Bollinger Motors Announces Our Next Energy as Battery Supplier for Electric Commercial Trucks
Bollinger Motors, now a majority-owned entity of Mullen Automotive, Inc. (NASDAQ: MULN), recently made a significant announcement regarding its supply chain. The company has selected Our Next Energy (ONE) as the official supplier of Aries battery packs. These modular, linkable Aries battery packs will be the driving force behind Bollinger Motors’ all-electric commercial platforms and chassis cabs. The move is seen as a strategic step towards fostering sustainable innovation in commercial transportation, further strengthening Bollinger Motors’ position in the electric vehicle industry.
“ONE battery packs are ideal for our commercial trucks, giving our customers the range they need,” said Robert Bollinger, founder and CEO of Bollinger Motors. “The fact they’ll be built in the US and in Michigan is a huge advantage for us going forward.”
Bollinger Motors’ all-electric Class 4 through Class 6 chassis cabs are meticulously engineered to address a critical segment of commercial transportation. They are designed to deliver considerable payload capacities, ensuring that commercial customers can meet their extensive transportation needs efficiently. Moreover, these all-electric chassis cabs offer substantial range, catering to the demand for vehicles capable of long-distance hauls without compromising on performance. The robustness and durability of these electric vehicles are testament to Bollinger’s commitment to longevity and reliability, making them a viable and sustainable choice for commercial use. This strategy aligns with the broader shift towards clean energy, reinforcing Bollinger Motors’ pioneering role in transforming the dynamics of the electric vehicle industry.
“We are pleased to provide Bollinger commercial vehicles with industry-leading range, using our Aries LFP battery platform,” said Mujeeb Ijaz, founder and CEO of ONE. “The Aries LFP chemistry contains no nickel and cobalt, offering superior durability and daily charging up to 100% without compromise.”
“Halting development of our batteries in-house and teaming up with ONE is a win-win in both technological advancement and production logistics,” says Bryan Chambers, COO of Bollinger Motors. “We’ve not only advanced the quality of our product, but moved our fleet delivery dates closer.”
Bollinger Motors is slated to first launch their Class 4 Chassis Cab, an advanced design capable of accommodating either 1 or 2 Aries battery packs, based on the individual range requirements of the customer. This initiative is anticipated to be followed by the introduction of Class 5 platforms specifically engineered for walk-in van upfits, thereby broadening the scope of Bollinger’s all-electric offerings. These battery packs, the heart of the electric powertrain, are projected to be ready and available in time for Bollinger’s expected start of production in late 2023. This proactive approach not only underscores Bollinger Motors’ commitment to delivering cutting-edge, sustainable solutions but also strategizes to coincide with the anticipated surge in demand for electric commercial vehicles.
