Oshkosh Corporation Participating in 2023 Advanced Clean Transportation Expo
Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK), a renowned innovator of custom-designed vehicles and equipment, is thrilled to confirm its participation as an exhibitor in the upcoming Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo. Scheduled to take place from May 1-4, 2023, in Anaheim, California, the ACT Expo is regarded as the country’s largest annual conference and trade show devoted to advanced transportation technologies and clean fuel vehicles. The expo, a significant gathering in the industry, will provide an excellent opportunity for Oshkosh Corporation to show its latest innovations and share its commitment to clean and efficient transportation solutions.
Drawing from nearly three decades of experience in electrification, Oshkosh has unveiled a series of purposefully-designed, battery-electric vehicles across many of its primary markets. Notable among these is the pioneering Pierce® Volterra™, a state-of-the-art fire truck equipped with advanced firefighting capabilities, and the formidable Oshkosh Striker® Volterra™ ARFF, designed for optimal performance in Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting. The JLG® DaVinci™ scissor lift stands as a testament to Oshkosh’s commitment to innovative construction solutions, along with the Oshkosh fully integrated refuse collection vehicle, introducing new standards of efficiency and sustainability into waste management. Rounding out the lineup are the agile eJLTV, which showcases robust, electric performance in off-road conditions, and the USPS NGDV, revolutionizing delivery services with a modern, eco-friendly approach.
At the ACT Expo, Oshkosh Corporation is going to present a unique and immersive experience for attendees, featuring North America’s first fully integrated, zero-emission electric refuse collection vehicle. Using state-of-the-art mixed reality technology, visitors will have the opportunity to virtually step inside a prototype of the new, ergonomically designed cab. Inside this virtual space, they will be able to explore detailed features and technologies in an interactive and engaging manner. Upon exiting the virtual cab, attendees will then have the chance to complete a thorough virtual reality (VR) walkaround of the refuse collection body. This immersive VR experience will provide a first-hand look at the innovative design and technological advancements of this groundbreaking vehicle.
Further enhancing the breadth of the company’s offerings, the world’s first all-electric scissor lift, the JLG® DaVinci™, will also be showcased. This revolutionary product is designed with a commitment to environmental sustainability and operational efficiency in mind. With zero hydraulics, the DaVinci eliminates the potential for job site leaks, thus preventing harmful environmental impacts. Moreover, it produces zero emissions, significantly contributing to pollution control. Every component of this lift has been meticulously optimized to reduce energy consumption, boasting a unique design that allows it to run efficiently on a single lithium-ion battery. This technological marvel underscores a dedication to pioneering environmentally responsible and innovative solutions.
In addition to the immersive exhibit, Oshkosh will also be an integral part of the “Municipal & Refuse Fleets at the Cutting-Edge” breakout session scheduled on Wednesday, May 3, from 1-2:15 p.m. PDT. Nader Nasr, the senior vice president of engineering, is set to share insights from the frontlines of zero-emission refuse trucks. This session is geared to provide a comprehensive understanding of the latest technological advancements in refuse collection vehicles and Oshkosh’s commitment towards environmental sustainability. Nasr’s presentation is expected to shed light on the practical aspects of operating these advanced, environmentally-friendly vehicles, their impact on waste management, and the future trajectory of the industry.
