Driving electric vehicle adoption

Rove Will Build First-of-its-Kind Full-Service EV Charging Centers in Southern California

Rove, a pioneering force in the electric vehicle (EV) industry, has proudly announced its plans to establish six full-service EV charging centers in Southern California. The initiative, set to kick-off in 2023, is a testament to Rove’s commitment to supporting the growth of clean energy and making EV charging more accessible and convenient for the public. These state-of-the-art facilities will not only cater to the increasing number of EV drivers but also signify a crucial step towards a more sustainable and emission-free future.

Rove is poised to revolutionize the Electric Vehicle (EV) charging experience by delivering a premium, customer-centric solution. Central to our mission is speed, intelligence, and reliability. Each of our Rove charging stations will boast 40 ultra-fast, Direct Current Fast Chargers (DCFC), able to reach remarkable speeds up to 350 kW. This impressive feature allows for a full charge to be achieved in a mere 15 minutes, drastically reducing the typical waiting times associated with conventional charging stations and propelling us into the future of EV charging.

Unlike other EV charging stations, Rove intends to redefine the concept of service and convenience. Our stations will offer a holistic full-service experience, encompassing not just fuel, but a range of onsite amenities designed with the needs and comfort of our customers in mind. Each center will house a market stocked with a selection of all-natural and organic meals and grocery options, offering a healthier, tastier alternative to typical convenience store fare. In addition, we’ll provide services such as a car wash, ensuring your vehicle leaves in better condition than when it arrived. But the service doesn’t stop there – we understand that comfort is key on any journey. That’s why we’re providing pristine restrooms, free Wi-Fi for all your browsing needs, and a lounge and patio area where you can relax and take a well-deserved break from the road.

“Fast. Safe. Reliable. These are all things EV charging should be but isn’t. We plan to change that,” said Rove CEO and long-time EV owner Nathan McDonnell. “Our goal is to raise the bar by providing fast charging, clean amenities, and onsite support. At Rove, we’re putting the customer first.”

Committed to environmental sustainability, Rove’s full-service stations are not just about providing superior services, but also about adopting responsible energy practices. Our stations are designed to enable the use of renewable energy, with onsite solar panels and battery storage integrated into the architecture. These installations will serve a dual purpose. Firstly, they will supplement the use of electricity from the grid during times of peak demand, helping to reduce our reliance on non-renewable sources. Secondly, they will support more sustainable energy usage by storing excess power generated during off-peak periods for later use. This way, we ensure that every aspect of our service, from fueling your vehicle to powering our amenities, is aligned with our commitment to a greener, more sustainable future.

“Nathan and his team have re-imagined the electric vehicle charging experience,” said Mark Longstreth, Partner at Newlight Partners, a private investment firm that made an initial investment in Rove in 2021. “We are proud to support Rove’s continued momentum to expand charging access and accelerate the transition of our vehicle fleet to clean and renewable energy.”

Rove plans to open 20 locations by 2026, starting with centers in Corona, Santa Ana, and Costa Mesa, California. For more information about Rove and its upcoming centers, visit http://RoveCharging.com.
