Driving electric vehicle adoption

Scorpion EV Coming to Green Transpo Expo, Escondido, CA, Earth Day, April 22, 2023

The Greater Escondido Chamber of Commerce announces the second annual Green Transpo Expo to take place at North County Mall, 272 E Via Rancho Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92025, on Saturday, April 22 – Earth Day – from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Scorpion EV will make an appearance at this year’s Green Transpo Expo

Made of unobtanium, the Scorpion 600 is a very limited production electric vehicle that caters to those looking for the unique experience of driving a classic car that performs and behaves like a modern electric vehicle.

Much like the perfect wine blends originated in the Temecula Valley, Scorpion 600 is the perfect blend of old and new. The Scorpion 600 pays homage to the iconic AC Cobra and its unmistakable curves while carrying the most powerful electric powertrain available on the market today. The result? Close your eyes and imagine the power of a Tesla S with ludicrous mode but at 1/2 the weight… and a shorter wheelbase… and convertible. Feel the wind punch your face as you accelerate at warp speeds.

The Scorpion EV is an experience for all your senses. From the quiet purr of the electric motor to the smell of rubber as the miles disappear in front of you, the feeling of the custom made mahogany steering wheel, the Scorpion 600 will elevate your sense of connection with the space around you.

The Scorpion 600 is the first production model of Scorpion EV. Designed and built in the heart of southern California’s wine country, the Scorpion 600 is a perfect blend of classic lines of the AC Cobra with state of the art electric performance of the Tesla S. The result is a 600hp beast that quietly purrs 687lb-ft of torque delivering roller coaster G forces at the touch of the accelerator.

About the 2nd Annual Green Transpo Expo

Attendees will learn about everything from electric cars, bikes and school buses to EV trends, alternative fuels, and home solar & battery storage. Our entire transportation system is rapidly changing, and this event will help educate guests on what it is all about…and what is coming next!

The event starts with the “Cars & Coffee” meet-up from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with complimentary coffee and donuts from local businesses. Car enthusiasts and car clubs are invited and encouraged to attend for an inclusive car mashup to merge the past and the future of transportation.

The Mayor of Escondido Dane White and James Rowten “JR,” Greater Escondido Chamber CEO, will kick off the Expo with a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. The main event will include an education forum and vendors from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Additional City, County, and State officials will also attend throughout the day.

This year, an extended educational forum with Q&A will coincide with the event throughout the day, with expert presenters from SDG&E, California State University San Marcos, Electric Vehicle Association of San Diego, ALIVE Solar, and more. Electric bikes will also be on hand to test ride.

“People throughout the community, and state, are seeing energy prices skyrocket,” said Rowten. “Now more than ever, people are looking for alternatives to help their wallet and the environment. It can be overwhelming to determine where to start – the Green Transpo Expo can help educate and guide local consumers as to what’s available and how to implement the alternatives.”
