itselectric, an innovative electric vehicle (EV) curbside charging company based in Brooklyn, announced a strategic partnership with SWTCH Energy, a leading provider of EV charging solutions for multi-tenant buildings in North America. The collaboration will involve SWTCH Energy serving as the software provider for itselectric, assisting in the management, maintenance, and optimization of its charging network. This move marks a significant step for itselectric as it seeks to bring accessible and affordable curbside EV charging solutions to cities across the U.S., demonstrating its commitment to promoting sustainable urban transportation.

itselectric offers urban networks of Level 2 curbside charging posts at no cost to cities or to property owners. Notably, it is the only curbside charging network that provides revenue sharing to property owners. Once a property is determined eligible, itselectric installs and maintains a low-profile charger, and property owners secure a passive income stream. This business model enables itselectric to assist cities in achieving their carbon reduction goals and minimizing capital expenditure by eliminating the need for the utility infrastructure upgrades typically associated with on-street charging.
The EV charging management platform provided by SWTCH will grant itselectric seamless insight and control over its charging network. This includes turnkey driver billing and charging fee remittance, 24/7 monitoring and maintenance alerts to ensure charger uptime, and real-time charger insights and reporting. By monitoring charger energy usage in real-time and setting charging rates based on energy or time used, SWTCH will optimize charger earnings that will subsequently be passed on to city property owners. The real-time monitoring capability will also enable itselectric to ensure the reliability of its charging network at scale, hence supporting the adoption of EVs in cities.
