ZETA’s $1.3M Campaign Raises Awareness About the Positive Economic Impacts of the EV Industry

In October, the Zero Emission Transportation Association Education Fund (ZETA Education Fund) launched a $1.3 million public education campaign to highlight the tremendous economic benefits of the U.S. electric vehicle (EV) industry. This campaign emphasizes job growth and a massive economic boom generated by investments in EV production, the EV supply chain and the expansion of public and private charging infrastructure.

Targeting Arizona, Georgia, and Tennessee—states that have recently attracted substantial EV and battery manufacturing investments—the campaign, running through Spring 2025, will feature messages across digital billboards, video and audio streaming platforms, and social media. The focus is on counties experiencing significant job and economic growth due to EV industry investments, aiming to raise public awareness of the EV sector’s tremendously positive economic impact.

“The recent wave of investments in America’s battery and EV supply chain is providing an economic jolt across our country. It is driving demand for domestic critical mineral production, creating construction jobs to build factories and charging stations, and supporting millions of Americans in the electricity supply industry,” said Executive Director Albert Gore. “Arizona, Georgia, and Tennessee are at the heart of this recent growth, but internal ZETA polling shows that more needs to be done to inform residents about the jobs being created in their communities. People are proud that these products are being made in their states. Whether they drive an EV or not, this gives their community a big stake in securing supply chains and making the U.S. globally competitive. Through this campaign, the ZETA Education Fund will connect the dots and show how EV supply chain investments are creating opportunities for families across our country.”

ZETA Education Fund Hosted a Policy and Business Roundtable Titled ‘Made in Arizona: The EV Supply Chain.’

The ZETA Education Fund recently hosted a two-day roundtable event, “Made in Arizona: the EV Supply Chain,” focused on showcasing Arizona’s growing role in the electric vehicle (EV) sector. This event highlighted the economic contributions of EV industry investments in Arizona and gathered government officials, business leaders, and community organizers to discuss the sector’s historic boost to the local economy.

The event included tours of the Arizona Sonoran Copper Company’s Cactus Mine and Lucid Motors’ AMP-1 facility, along with a half-day program featuring panels with policymakers and business leaders. Notable participants included Majority Whip Teresa Martinez, Mayor John Giles, Daniel Seiden from the Arizona Chamber of Commerce, Ryan G. Ruiz from the Arizona Commerce Authority, and Steven Zylstra from the Arizona Technology Council.

The roundtable was supported by sponsors including Salt River Project, Lucid Motors, KORE Power, Arizona Sonoran Copper Company, GreenPower Motor Company, ABB, and Li-Cycle, whose contributions helped bring the event to life. Li-Cycle recovers critical materials from lithium-ion batteries and reintroduce them back into the supply chain. KORE Power’s focus is cell and scalable battery block manufacturing for commercial, industrial, grid Scale Energy Storage and electric mobility.

ZETA Advocates for Policies To Achieve 100% Electric Vehicle (EV) Sales in the U.S.

The Zero Emission Transportation Association (ZETA) is a coalition advocating for policies to achieve 100% electric vehicle (EV) sales in the U.S., aiming to boost domestic job creation, secure leadership in EV manufacturing, improve public health, and reduce carbon emissions. ZETA’s policy platform is structured around seven pillars:

EV Market Development: Promotes policies like tax credits and fleet electrification to increase EV accessibility and adoption across sectors.

EV Charging Infrastructure: Supports federal programs and workforce initiatives to expand national EV charging networks, with a focus on urban and rural areas.

Performance and Emissions Standards: Advocates for stringent emissions standards to lower transportation pollution.

American EV and Battery Manufacturing: Aims to strengthen the EV battery supply chain and encourage sustainable practices in battery production and recycling.

Domestic Critical Mineral Development: Works to ensure secure access to critical minerals essential for EV production while upholding environmental standards.

State Policy: Provides guidance to states on policies to ease EV adoption and expand the EV manufacturing supply chain.

Environmental Justice: Strives to make EVs and clean transportation jobs accessible to all, emphasizing multi-unit dwelling charging and workforce opportunities in underrepresented communities.

Through these pillars, ZETA collaborates with federal and state stakeholders to accelerate the EV transition, positioning the U.S. as a leader in the zero-emission vehicle market.

EVinfo.net Supports ZETA

The Zero Emission Transportation Association (ZETA) is a federal coalition focused on advocating for 100% EV sales, in alignment with EVinfo.net’s goals. Enacting policies that drive EV adoption will create hundreds of thousands of American jobs, secure American global EV manufacturing dominance, drastically improve public health, and significantly reduce carbon pollution. America has fallen far behind China, the global EV industry leader. Through solid and sustained support for EV production and adoption in America and around the globe, all people will breathe easier as air quality improves. Greenhouse gases emitted from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles will decline as EV sales increase, positively impacting the fight against global climate change.
