Geotab Announces Sustainability Center and EV Charge Monitoring for Fleets
On February 27, 2025, Geotab Inc. and its affiliates unveiled significant updates to its connected vehicle platform, introducing the Geotab Sustainability Center and EV Charge Monitoring. These new additions are designed to help organizations optimize fleet management, reduce operational costs, and contribute to sustainability goals, all while improving overall efficiency.
The Geotab Sustainability Center offers fleet managers a comprehensive tool to track and act on key metrics related to fuel consumption, emissions, idling behavior, and the electrification potential of their fleets. As businesses face increasing operational costs, they are turning to data-driven insights to streamline operations and minimize environmental impact. Geotab’s new platform fills this critical gap by providing businesses with a centralized hub for cost control, compliance, and operational efficiency.
The center allows fleet managers to understand idling patterns and fuel waste, enabling them to take action to reduce unnecessary fuel consumption. It also offers insights into the fuel and energy economy of both traditional and electric vehicles, helping organizations assess their energy use. Additionally, the platform tracks the effectiveness of emissions reduction strategies, such as anti-idling campaigns and fleet electrification. Fleet managers can also use the center to identify which vehicles in their fleet are most suitable for replacement with electric vehicles, supporting the transition to more sustainable operations.

In alignment with its sustainability efforts, Geotab has also introduced a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Report, certified by TÜV Rheinland, to help businesses monitor their Scope 1 emissions. This near real-time emissions data allows organizations to meet the reporting requirements of environmental frameworks like the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), ensuring transparency and accuracy in their climate disclosures.
Alongside the Sustainability Center, Geotab launched EV Charge Monitoring to ensure electric vehicles are charged and ready to operate when needed. This feature provides fleet managers with real-time updates on the charge status of their EVs, allowing them to address charging issues before they disrupt fleet operations. It helps manage charging queues effectively, even when the number of available stations is limited, and ensures that fleet dispatch decisions are informed by the readiness of the vehicles. By keeping EVs charged and operational, businesses can fully realize the fuel cost savings associated with electrification.
The Geotab Sustainability Center and EV Charge Monitoring are integrated into the MyGeotab platform, which is widely trusted by both public and private sector organizations for secure telematics data management. Together, these new tools offer fleet managers the resources they need to reduce their environmental footprint, optimize fleet performance, and cut costs in a rapidly changing landscape.
As fleets continue to evolve and incorporate more electric vehicles, Geotab remains committed to providing innovative solutions that support sustainability and efficiency across all aspects of fleet management.
