Karma Automotive’s Stunning Amaris 2-Door EREV Coupe Unveiled
Karma Automotive unveiled its stunning Amaris on March 20, 2025. The groundbreaking 2-door coupe is expected to redefine the brand’s approach to luxury performance. The Amaris, which is set to begin production in Q4 2026, marks Karma’s first entry into the 2-door coupe segment and builds upon the cutting-edge technologies and design language introduced with the Karma Kaveya super-coupe.
With its production-intent exterior revealed yesterday, the Amaris will feature a next-generation Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) powertrain, offering impressive performance alongside sustainability. This new powertrain is powered by a larger, turbocharged 4-cylinder internal combustion engine (ICE) generator, making the Amaris capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in under 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 165 mph. Karma’s dedication to blending electric performance with a traditional powertrain innovation sets the Amaris apart in the ultra-luxury car market.
The Amaris will also inherit the sleek and sophisticated design elements first introduced with the Karma Kaveya. The car’s powerful carbon fiber and aluminum body are designed to turn heads, featuring Karma’s iconic Comet Line design language. This flowing line runs from the sculpted cowl, across the hood, and arcs toward the wide, aggressive rear track. The Amaris will come equipped with 22” Constellation forged aluminum wheels, establishing its purposeful stance.

One of the standout features of the Amaris is its dramatic design details. The vehicle’s voluptuous clamshell hood, which incorporates Karma’s signature Target Lighting, flows seamlessly into the front fenders. The “swan doors,” which gracefully pivot upwards, add a touch of luxury and spectacle to the car’s profile. The sleek rear glass is complemented by an aero pass-through spoiler, reducing drag while boosting stability at high speeds. For performance enthusiasts, the Americana-inspired side exhaust provides a distinctive touch that signals the Amaris’ raw power.
“Karma Automotive remains at the forefront of EREV powertrains, and believes now more than ever that the freedom of refueling either with gasoline or electricity is ideally suited to the marketplace,” says Marques McCammon, President, Karma Automotive. “With our gorgeous Amaris 2-door coupe and soon-to-be-revealed Gyesera 4-door, we’re building a range of vehicles that will deliver exceptional EV torque and performance paired with worry-free cruising range, a combination that only EREV can deliver.”
In addition to the Amaris, Karma also revealed a strategic shift for the Gyesera, a previously unveiled 4-door EV. The Gyesera will now arrive later this year featuring the EREV powertrain instead of a fully electric powertrain. This change is in response to evolving market demands for EVs and aligns with the trend of many premium and ultra-luxury brands reassessing their powertrain strategies. The Gyesera’s launch marks a new chapter for Karma, as it will succeed the Revero when it debuts with updated styling and enhanced performance.
While the news of the Amaris and Gyesera’s powertrain changes may raise some eyebrows, Karma Automotive is confident that the shift in approach will align with the shifting market and customer expectations. Additionally, the launch of the fully electric Karma Kaveya super-coupe has been postponed until 2027, further emphasizing the company’s commitment to adjusting its products in response to the current automotive landscape.
The Amaris and Gyesera both benefit from Karma’s innovative all-aluminum spaceframe architecture, first pioneered with the groundbreaking Karma Revero. This platform accelerates development timelines and ensures that both vehicles will feature cutting-edge technology and design from the outset.
Karma Automotive: A Legacy of Innovation and Luxury
Karma Automotive, based in Irvine, California, is America’s only full-line ultra-luxury vehicle manufacturer. The company is renowned for pioneering EREV (Extended-Range Electric Vehicle) technology, which it manufactures at its Karma Innovation and Customization Center (KICC) in Moreno Valley, CA. Karma’s executive, product development, and design headquarters are located in Irvine, California.
Karma’s journey began when the Chinese auto-parts supplier Wanxiang Group acquired the assets of Fisker Automotive in a bankruptcy auction in February 2014. The purchase included designs, a plug-in hybrid powertrain, and the former Wilmington Assembly factory. Fisker Automotive, founded by Henrik Fisker and Bernhard Koehler in 2007, had produced the Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid sedan before succumbing to financial troubles and filing for bankruptcy in 2013. Wanxiang Group’s acquisition led to the creation of Karma Automotive, ushering in a new era for the company.
Looking ahead, Karma’s innovative vehicles like the Amaris, Gyesera, and Kaveya are poised to continue pushing the boundaries of luxury and performance, making a bold statement in the evolving landscape of automotive technology.
Stay tuned for more updates as Karma Automotive prepares to redefine what’s possible in the ultra-luxury electric vehicle market.
