Driving electric vehicle adoption

Polestar Q1 Retail EV Sales Skyrocket by 76% Compared to Last Year

Polestar is starting 2025 on a strong note. The Swedish-Chinese electric performance car brand announced today that it sold an estimated 12,304 vehicles in Q1 2025, marking a 76% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Sales remained stable versus Q4 2024, signaling resilience amid ongoing global economic headwinds.

This growth comes as the company continues to shift toward an active selling model, aimed at creating a more direct and engaging retail experience for customers. The uptick is also supported by growing interest in Polestar’s newer EV models, which have broadened the brand’s portfolio beyond the original Polestar 2.

While macroeconomic conditions remain uncertain, Polestar’s Q1 results suggest the brand is successfully navigating the current landscape and positioning itself for long-term expansion.

Polestar expects to publish its full-year 2024 financial results and file its annual report on Form 20-F by the end of April 2025.

Michael Lohscheller, Polestar CEO, said: “We are on the right track and doing the right things. I’m pleased with the progress we are making in transforming our commercial operations. With a more active selling model, more retail partners and attractive cars, we are delivering results. At the same time, we are monitoring closely and assessing the volatile geopolitical environment and will adapt as needed.”
