Driving electric vehicle adoption

Aero Corporation Opens Harrisburg, PA’s Largest EV Charging Station

On May 1, 2025, Aero Corporation, one of the largest Avis and Budget franchisees in North America, announced the grand opening of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania’s largest electric vehicle (EV) charging station, featuring a solar canopy. Developed in collaboration with IMC Solar, MVE Group, SRE Energy, EO Charging, and Nayax, this landmark achievement represents a significant leap forward for EV charging infrastructure in Central PA.

The new facility is bolstered by over $300,000 in funding from the state of Pennsylvania, secured through the Alternative Fuel Refueling Infrastructure Grant (AFIG) with support from the Eastern Pennsylvania Alliance for Clean Transportation. Strategically located at one of Aero Corporation’s key sites, the station now boasts 12 new Level-3 fast chargers—each capable of delivering up to 180kW—adding to the 10 existing Level-2 and Level-3 chargers on-site. With 22 chargers in total, the location has become the largest publicly accessible EV charging hub in both Harrisburg and the broader Central Pennsylvania region.

“At Aero Corporation, we are committed to leading the way in sustainable transportation. This new facility in Harrisburg is not just an investment in our business, but also an investment in the future of our community. We are proud to be part of Pennsylvania’s journey towards a greener and more sustainable tomorrow,” said Solomon Cramer, President of Aero Corporation.

Designed and developed by IMC Solar, LLC and constructed by SRE Energy, with MVE Group overseeing project execution, the new station exemplifies cutting-edge sustainable infrastructure. It reflects the Commonwealth’s commitment to clean energy adoption and the development of reliable, high-speed charging solutions for the rapidly expanding EV market.

Jessica Shirley, Acting Secretary at Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), said: “Our mission at DEP involves protecting clean air for the people of Pennsylvania, and a big part of that is reducing the air pollution from cars and trucks. Projects like this make it easier for people to switch to an electric vehicle – cutting down on pollution. The Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant program supports projects like this one to increase the availability of EV charging stations and other alternative fuel options for Pennsylvania drivers.”

Charging hardware was supplied by EO Charging, a global leader known for its high-performance solutions and proven reliability in fleet electrification. The site also features advanced payment and user experience technology provided by Nayax, enabling quick, secure, and seamless transactions for EV drivers.

This milestone not only enhances the public charging network but also aligns with Pennsylvania’s goals to reduce transportation-related emissions and promote clean energy solutions. The facility supports Aero Corporation’s broader sustainability mission and ongoing efforts to electrify its vehicle rental and service operations.
