Acura, Honda’s luxury division, is making waves in the US EV market with massive discounts on its new electric SUV, the ZDX. Although Acura isn’t typically known as an EV leader, the numbers speak for themselves: through May 2025, the brand has sold over 9,000 EVs in the US—no small feat for a newcomer in the electric luxury segment.

Acura’s EV push comes at a time when the broader market is evolving rapidly. The ZDX, which launched in the US in May 2024, has been the star of the show. In May alone, Acura sold 1,873 ZDX models—nearly matching the performance of Honda’s Prologue, which logged 2,110 sales in the same month. To put things in perspective, Acura’s total ZDX sales since launch now stand at 9,017 units, far exceeding initial expectations.

The surge in demand can largely be credited to aggressive incentives. In some states, Acura is offering nearly $30,000 in lease cash on the 2024 ZDX, bringing monthly lease payments down to just $299 for 24 months with $2,999 due at signing. That’s a deal hard to resist—especially when it undercuts Honda’s own CR-V Hybrid.

Acura’s vice president of national sales, Mike Langel, acknowledged the role of these incentives in driving early success. “We can only drive the market so much by incentives, and that’s where we have to remain flexible in our approach,” he said in an interview with Automotive News.

However, the question remains: how long can these discounts last? Automakers often adjust incentives based on demand and supply, and as the ZDX gains traction, it’s likely Acura will recalibrate its approach. For now, though, it’s clear that Acura has cracked the code for getting its luxury EVs into more driveways, even if it’s taking some big discounts to make it happen.

With the EV market heating up and competition intensifying, Acura’s bold pricing strategy could be the push it needs to establish itself as a serious player in the electric era.

The 2025 Honda Prologue EV: Now Up to $16,500 Off with 0.99% Financing

If you’re eyeing the 2025 Honda Prologue electric SUV, now might be the perfect time to make your move. According to CarsDirect, the Prologue just became one of the best EV lease deals on the market, thanks to a combination of cash incentives and ultra-low financing.

As of May 23, Honda is stacking on even more savings: an additional $2,000 in HFS Lease/Finance Cash, bringing the total potential lease or finance savings to a whopping $16,500. These incentives build on existing offers, including $3,500 in Lease/Finance Cash available nationwide and another $1,000 in loyalty or conquest cash if you’re coming out of a Honda lease (or one from a competing brand).

For those in zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) states like California, there’s an extra $2,500 on the table, while all Prologue leases remain eligible for the $7,500 EV lease credit. Buyers who opt to purchase instead of lease can also tap into the federal EV tax credit, bringing them the same $16,500 total savings if they qualify.

On top of the cash incentives, Honda is offering 0.99% financing for up to 60 months, making the deal even sweeter if you’re buying rather than leasing.

So, what does this all mean in real terms? In California, the 2025 Prologue EX—starting at $51,850—can be leased for just $259 a month for 36 months with $3,999 due at signing. That’s not only cheaper than Honda’s smallest gas-powered SUV, the HR-V LX ($289/month with $3,299 down), but it also undercuts the CR-V Hybrid Sport, which has an effective lease cost of $486/month.

It’s a dramatic turnaround for the Prologue, which struggled to find its groove earlier this year. Now, with an eye-popping lease value and low APR financing, the Prologue has become one of Honda’s most compelling EV deals.

But don’t wait too long—these offers are only available through July 7, and as demand for affordable EVs heats up, they may not stick around.
