CleverCharge: An AI Powered Home EV Charger with Patent-Pending Capabilities, Expandable for Multi-EV Future

Danlaw, Inc., a global leader in connected car technology and automotive electronics, has launched CleverCharge, an advanced Level 2 home EV charging system designed to simplify charging for households with multiple electric vehicles. Now available at CleverCharge.com and Amazon with limited-time Black Friday pricing, CleverCharge supports up to four EVs or plug-in hybrids through a single mobile app, offering enhanced control, useful features, and flexibility for daily schedules. Danlaw released the news on PR Newswire on November 25, 2025.

“We created CleverCharge to meet the unique needs of families with multiple EVs in the garage, a trend we know will grow thanks to a recent study from J.D. Power that said 94 percent of EV owners were likely to consider purchasing another EV for their next car,” said Scott Bolt, chief strategy officer at Danlaw. “Our goal was to make it simple and intuitive to manage the entire household’s charge management needs from one app, while combining data from both the vehicle and the charger to deliver intelligent, seamless changing guidance. CleverCharge is the only home charger designed to grow with your family’s needs.”

CleverCharge introduces patent-pending capabilities not found in other home chargers. Its built-in AI assistant learns each driver’s habits, anticipates daily range needs, and sends proactive reminders to ensure vehicles are ready. Mobile notifications help drivers pick the best charging times when energy rates are lowest. The app’s dashboard clearly displays battery range in both miles and kilowatt-hours, along with charging time remaining and battery health.

At the center of the system is CleverKey, a small OBD-II plug-in device that provides the vehicle data needed for advanced functions. CleverCharge uses information from CleverKey and the charger itself to enable plug-in alerts, charge scheduling, battery diagnostics, estimated charging duration, and detailed cost tracking for each EV in the household. During setup, CleverCharge automatically identifies the vehicle and creates a profile for each CleverKey. Households with multiple chargers in different locations, such as a second home or office, can easily organize each charger and associated vehicle within the app.

CleverCharge is available in the U.S. as a hardwired unit or a NEMA 14-50 plug-in version, with connectors offered in either J1772 or NACS. Additional CleverKeys and mounting accessories are sold separately. For Black Friday, Danlaw is offering $100 off select units.

Specifications include installation via hardwire or NEMA 14-50, charging speeds up to 46 miles per hour for hardwired and 38 miles per hour for NEMA, power ratings of 48 amps hardwired and 40 amps NEMA, compatibility with all EVs and PHEVs sold in North America, and indoor or outdoor installation. The unit measures 12 by 8 by 3.1875 inches.
