Beep Announces Autonomous Electric Transit Bus Deployments in Florida and Georgia
In November 2025, Beep, Inc., a leading deployer of multi-passenger autonomous vehicle (AV) solutions in the United States through its AutonomOS™ AV mobility platform, announced two shared AV deployments that would leverage production-grade, state-of-the-art Karsan Autonomous e-JEST vehicles. The vehicles were facilitated through Karsan’s official distributor, Damera Corp., unveiled earlier in the month, and enabled by Beep’s previously announced alliance agreement with ADASTEC.
The deployments combined ADASTEC’s SAE Level 4 automated driving software platform and advanced sensor suite with Beep’s remote management and orchestration capabilities and Karsan’s Autonomous e-JEST vehicle. Together, these technologies were expected to support safe and reliable operations in mixed traffic and challenging weather conditions while enhancing multimodal connectivity.
Attendees at the Florida Autonomous Vehicle Summit (FAV Summit) were able to experience the new vehicle platform through live demonstrations ahead of the planned deployments in Atlanta, Georgia, and Altamonte Springs, Florida. The FAV Summit took place in Orlando, Florida, from November 5–7, 2025.
The Karsan Autonomous e-JEST was presented as a fully certified, production-ready vehicle platform backed by more than 60 years of OEM heritage. The vehicle met all FMVSS and ADA compliance requirements, had successfully completed Altoona testing, and was supported by OEM warranty and series-production capabilities. More than 10,000 units of the base vehicle had already been produced, including over 1,000 electric versions operating across Europe, North America, and Japan, establishing it as Europe’s leading electric minibus. This foundation positioned the Autonomous e-JEST to deliver reliability, safety, and serviceability at scale.
In Altamonte Springs, Florida, Beep announced plans to expand the CraneRIDES program in partnership with the City of Altamonte Springs. The expansion was expected to connect directly to the Altamonte Springs SunRail station and the broader regional transit network beginning in 2026 through the addition of shared AVs. CraneRIDES had already been recognized as the first permanent AV program deployed by a U.S. city, setting a national precedent for municipal AV integration.
“Altamonte Springs was proud to be the first city in America to launch a permanent autonomous vehicle program of this kind,” said Frank Martz, City Manager for the City of Altamonte Springs. “Now, we are building on that momentum and expanding our vision. This next phase goes beyond technology. It focuses on connecting communities, enhancing access and demonstrating what can happen when cities take the lead. Our collaboration with Beep and the Florida Department of Transportation paved the way for this exciting new chapter with Karsan, Damera Corporation, and ADASTEC.”

In Atlanta, Georgia, Beep announced plans to partner with the Atlanta Beltline to deploy the city’s first fixed-route shared AV service. Scheduled to launch ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the deployment was intended to highlight Atlanta as a global leader in people-focused, innovative transportation.
“This first-of-its-kind autonomous transit pilot in Atlanta is an important step toward realizing a more innovative and accessible city,” said Clyde Higgs, President & CEO of Atlanta Beltline, Inc. “Through this pilot, we have the opportunity to learn what works best, identify areas for improvement, and apply those insights to connect Atlanta together. It’s not just about testing new technology—it’s about enhancing mobility access and increasing connectivity. As we look ahead to welcoming the world for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, we’re proud to continue creating a more inclusive and resilient corridor that benefits all Atlantans, especially those who live, work, and play along the Beltline.”

Karsan Manufactures Commercial Vehicles for Many of the World’s Leading Brands
With nearly six decades of experience in the Turkish automotive industry, Karsan manufactures commercial vehicles for many of the world’s leading brands, as well as under its own name, at its modern production facilities. The company has produced commercial vehicles since 1981, with its Hasanağa factory in Bursa capable of manufacturing approximately 20,000 vehicles per year on a single-shift basis. Located 30 kilometers from Bursa’s city center, the facility spans 203,000 square meters, including 99,000 square meters of enclosed production space, and is designed to flexibly support output ranging from passenger cars and minivans to buses and heavy trucks.
As the only independent multi-brand vehicle manufacturer in Turkey, Karsan participates across all segments of passenger transportation by developing new and derivative products in collaboration with business partners and licensors. Guided by its vision of staying ahead in the future of mobility, the company focuses on bringing innovative products and services in public transportation from concept to market, with particular emphasis on strengthening its main manufacturer and OEM operations.
Karsan manages the full automotive value chain, encompassing research and development, production, marketing, sales, and after-sales services. The company produces the Jest and Atak models under its own brand and has established a leadership position in electric and autonomous mobility.

Following the launch of the Karsan e-JEST in 2018 and e-ATAK in 2019, Karsan introduced the world’s first Level 4 autonomous bus, the Autonomous e-ATAK, developed in collaboration with ADASTEC in 2021. That same year, the company expanded its born-electric e-ATA family with 10-, 12-, and 18-meter models, followed by the introduction of e-ATA HYDROGEN models in 2022. These milestones make Karsan the first and only manufacturer in Europe to offer a fully electric public transportation range from 6 to 18 meters. Karsan also produces the Megane Sedan for Renault and, in late 2023, became the first European bus manufacturer to enter the Japanese market with the right-hand-drive e-JEST model.
