Dragonfly Announces $3M Order From Stevens of Its Lithium Battery Solutions to Reduce Idling, TCO for Diesel Bigrigs
On April 20, 2026, Dragonfly Energy Holdings Corp., an industry leader in energy storage and manufacturer of Battle Born Batteries®, announced that Stevens Transport, Inc. placed a significant purchase order for deliveries spanning 2026. The order covers Dragonfly Energy’s full heavy-duty trucking product portfolio.
The agreement represents one of the most comprehensive single-fleet adoptions of Dragonfly Energy’s technology platform to date, reflecting growing demand for its integrated lithium-based solutions. These systems are designed to reduce engine idling, enhance driver comfort, and lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
Valued at more than $3 million, the order is expected to generate meaningful revenue throughout 2026 and will be fulfilled through multiple shipments deployed across nearly 500 trucks. The development builds on a previously announced partnership between the two companies and marks a transition from initial deployments to scaled fleet adoption.
“We believe this order is a meaningful validation of both the performance and economic value of our technology,” said Denis Phares, Chief Executive Officer of Dragonfly Energy. “Fleet operators are under continued pressure to reduce operating costs while improving reliability and driver experience. Our solutions are engineered to meet those needs, and we believe this level of commitment demonstrates growing confidence in lithium-based hybrid electrification solutions across the trucking industry.”

“At Stevens Transport, we have always made technology decisions based on one thing: what actually works in the real world for our drivers and our business,” said Clay Aaron, President of Stevens Transport. “After partnering with Dragonfly Energy and seeing the performance of their systems across our fleet, expanding to their full product suite was a straightforward decision. In a year when every capital dollar counts, these systems are delivering the fuel savings, uptime, and driver satisfaction that justify the investment. We look forward to continuing to build on this partnership throughout 2026.”
The order includes several core heavy-duty trucking solutions. The Battle Born DualFlow Power Pack, available in 12V and 24V configurations, is a LiFePO4-based idle reduction system that provides dedicated power for sleeper cab hotel loads, supports starter battery health by minimizing deep cycling, and recharges through the vehicle’s alternator. The Battle Born All-Electric APU, offered in deep in-frame and side box configurations, is designed to support full hotel loads including HVAC systems, appliances, and onboard electronics, allowing fleets to eliminate engine idling during rest periods. The Battle Born Inverter delivers pure sine wave AC power with high surge capacity to support demanding onboard equipment and ensure consistent performance in real-world conditions.
“This is the type of customer engagement our entire Heavy Duty Truck team has been building toward,” said Wade Seaburg, Chief Commercial Officer of Dragonfly Energy. “Through close collaboration across our commercial, engineering, and product teams, we’ve developed a complete, scalable platform that is now being deployed across nearly 500 trucks and designed to integrate seamlessly across multiple OEM platforms. That combination of fleet-level validation and broad OEM compatibility is what enables scalable adoption. While market conditions remain dynamic, continued traction in this segment reinforces our confidence in the long-term opportunity within commercial and fleet channels.”
Dragonfly Energy’s heavy-duty portfolio enables fleets to power hotel loads without relying on engine idling, reducing fuel consumption and maintenance costs associated with traditional diesel auxiliary power units. This hybrid electrification approach continues to gain traction as a practical and cost-effective pathway for fleets seeking immediate operational savings without full vehicle electrification. The order spans multiple system configurations across Stevens Transport’s fleet, signaling a broader shift toward hybrid electrification strategies, with deliveries scheduled throughout 2026.

EVinfo.net’s Take: Dragonfly and Stevens are Saving Truckers Money While Protecting the Environment
On April 20, 2026, AAA reported national average diesel prices in the USA at $5.531, and the year ago average at $3.570. Fuel costs around the world are skyrocketing due to the Iran war.
Obviously, cost savings in diesel for US trucking has never been more important. Dragonfly’s systems saves trucking companies on total cost of ownership (TCO).
This approach also highlights a broader trend toward hybrid electrification strategies. Full battery-electric trucks are gaining traction, but they still face infrastructure, cost, and range limitations in certain segments of freight transport. Dragonfly Energy’s solutions offer a bridge. They enable fleets to electrify key functions without immediately overhauling their entire vehicle platform. That flexibility is critical for large operators managing tight margins and complex logistics networks.
Full electrification of the U.S. trucking system will take many years. In the meantime, we are glad Dragonfly is offering these great solutions, and smart companies like Stevens are using them.
