Over 500 New EVgo Charging Stalls to Be Added at Brixmor Shopping Centers Across the U.S.

On August 3, 2026, EVgo Inc., one of the nation’s largest public fast charging networks, announced an expansion of its partnership with Brixmor Property Group that will add more than 500 new DC fast charging stalls across the United States. When the rollout is complete, at least 90 Brixmor shopping centers, representing more than 25% of the company’s portfolio, will feature EVgo fast chargers, significantly expanding a partnership that began nearly a decade ago.

The new charging stations will be installed at shopping centers in Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Construction is scheduled to begin later this year, with the first location expected at Barn Plaza in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Each new site will include up to 12 high-power EVgo fast chargers, making them well suited for grocery-anchored shopping centers where Americans typically visit two to three times each week. By placing charging stations at popular retail destinations, EV drivers can conveniently recharge while shopping, turning charging time into productive time.

The expansion also benefits retailers. Public fast charging stations help attract EV drivers to shopping centers, increasing customer visits, time spent on-site, and spending at nearby businesses. As electric vehicle adoption continues to grow, charging infrastructure is becoming an increasingly valuable amenity for both property owners and retailers.

EVgo and Brixmor first partnered in 2016 with the installation of a fast charger at a shopping center in Pleasanton, California.
