Mercedes-Benz UK Names Pod Exclusive Home Charging Partner

Mercedes-Benz UK appointed Pod as its sole home EV charging partner, giving both new and existing customers access to the Pod Point Solo 3S home charger at a discounted price.

Customers can purchase the Pod Point Solo 3S for £749, approximately $1,020, including standard installation. Mercedes-Benz said the price represents a £250, or roughly $340, saving compared with standard pricing. Customers who prefer to pay over time can choose a three-year installment plan costing £27 per month, approximately $37, with no upfront payment. Every Pod Point home charger installed through the partnership comes with a five-year warranty.

The partnership gives Mercedes-Benz customers two purchasing options:

Mercedes-Benz customers are referred to Pod through their selected Mercedes-Benz Agent. Pod then manages the customer experience, including consultation, payment, installation and ongoing support.

After installation, customers can also access reduced overnight charging rates through the Pod Power by EDF energy tariff and enroll in the Pod Rewards program.

Jason Allbutt, Sales Director at Mercedes-Benz Cars UK, said the partnership is intended to provide customers with a more seamless home-charging experience as the automaker expands its electric vehicle lineup.

Val Geary, Vice President of Partnerships at Pod, said the company has worked with Mercedes-Benz UK for several years and that becoming the automaker’s sole home charging supplier will allow it to support more Mercedes-Benz EV customers.

The agreement comes as Mercedes-Benz accelerates its electrification strategy. Since March 2025, the automaker introduced a new generation of electric vehicles spanning models including the CLA, GLA, GLB, GLC, C-Class and Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé.

Pairing new electric vehicles with a dedicated home charging solution gives Mercedes-Benz customers a more integrated ownership experience, while the discounted charger and installation pricing can reduce one of the upfront costs associated with switching to an EV.

Mercedes-Benz Public Charging Expands Across Europe

Mercedes-Benz provides broad public EV charging access across Europe through its MB.CHARGE Public service, known as Mercedes me Charge in some markets. The service gives Mercedes-Benz EV drivers access to more than 1.1 million public charging points across 29 European countries.

The service is designed to simplify public charging by allowing drivers to use multiple charging networks through a single contract, charging card and login. This eliminates the need to maintain separate accounts with individual charging operators.

MB.CHARGE Public also supports convenient cross-border travel, allowing drivers to charge across participating European countries while receiving consolidated invoices in their local currency.

Through the Mercedes-Benz app and vehicle infotainment system, drivers can access charging information including pricing and real-time station availability. The service also supports Plug & Charge, allowing compatible vehicles to automatically authenticate and begin charging without requiring a separate app or charging card.

Mercedes-Benz USA EV Charging Overview

Mercedes-Benz USA promotes a comprehensive charging ecosystem covering home charging and public fast charging. Its MB.CHARGE Public service provides access to more than 170,000 charging stations across the country through the Mercedes-Benz app. Owners who activate the service receive two years of complimentary charging sessions at Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging locations.

The Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging network offers charging speeds of up to 400 kW and is designed to support both everyday driving and longer road trips. Mercedes-Benz also partners with IONNA, with plans for 30,000 charging points by 2030, while Mercedes-Benz drivers receive a special discount at IONNA locations.

For home charging, Mercedes-Benz USA recommends its MB Wallbox and notes that Level 2 charging can add up to 30 miles of range per hour, while Level 1 charging through a standard 120-volt outlet is significantly slower. DC fast charging provides the quickest option, with newer Mercedes EVs supporting both NACS and CCS1 connectivity.
