Electreon Unveils Lite DOT Wireless EV Charging at IAA Transportation 2026

Electreon Wireless Ltd., a global provider of wireless charging solutions for electric vehicles (EVs), unveiled Electreon Lite DOT for the first time at IAA Transportation in Hannover, Germany, on September 14, 2026. Lite DOT is a new stationary wireless charging solution for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Based on Electreon’s proven and field-tested wireless charging technology, Lite DOT is designed to make charging an electric vehicle as simple as parking.

The new 11 kW wireless charging solution features an above-ground charging pad and wall unit, allowing electric passenger cars and light commercial vehicles to charge automatically while parked without plugging in.

Simply Park And Charge Automatically

Lite DOT simplifies charging for electric passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, including autonomous vehicles, making the process more convenient and efficient for fleet operators and private users. The system eliminates the need to handle charging cables. Once a vehicle is parked, Lite DOT identifies it and charging begins automatically and immediately.

Lite DOT delivers up to 11 kilowatts (kW) of charging power, matching the current standard for private charging connections. The system can be installed safely outdoors or inside garages. It is designed to operate efficiently and reliably in rain and snow and at temperatures ranging from -30 to +50 degrees Celsius (-22 to +122 degrees Fahrenheit).

The system consists of an above-ground charging pad installed in a parking space without extensive excavation work, a wall unit that can be mounted on a garage wall or outdoors, including on a pole, and the Electreon Flow driver mobile application.

Lite DOT is designed to operate with a vehicle-specific receiver supplied either by Electreon or by partners in the automotive industry.

Charging Becomes Part Of Regular Parking Times For Electric Fleets

Conventional charging solutions can hinder the efficient and smooth operation of electric fleets. One key reason is their reliance on cables. Frequent plugging and unplugging, daily handling, exposure to dirt and weather, and cables sometimes being run over by vehicles can make charging cables and connectors among the most maintenance-intensive components of conventional EV charging infrastructure.

The market launch of Lite DOT comes as electric mobility continues to gain momentum worldwide and across Europe. During the first half of 2026, registrations of electric vehicles in Europe increased by more than 30%.

According to estimates from the International Energy Agency (IEA), electric vehicles could account for around 40% of global new car sales by 2030, requiring approximately 150 million additional charging points by the end of the decade.

Electreon says the convenience of wireless charging could eventually lead to wired technologies being replaced in some applications, similar to how Wi-Fi replaced network cables and Bluetooth replaced other physical connections.
