Autel Energy Sponsoring Clean Buses U.S., November 18-19 2026, San Francisco
Autel Energy announced that Tyler C. Beaty, Director of Sales, Fleet Infrastructure at Autel Energy, and the Autel team will attend Clean Buses US 2026 on November 18-19 at the Marines’ Memorial Club & Hotel in San Francisco, California.
Sponsored by Autel Energy, hosted by Global Mass Transit, the sixth Clean Buses US conference will address the changing landscape of the American transit bus sector, including federal policy shifts, funding priorities, market constraints, and technological advances in clean transportation.
The U.S. transit bus sector is entering a more complex and fragmented phase of transition. Federal priorities have shifted toward a technology-neutral, cost-focused approach rather than a singular emphasis on battery-electric buses. Approximately $2.4 billion in federal funding across 2025-2026 programs continues to support fleet renewal and infrastructure upgrades, with broader eligibility that includes hybrid, compressed natural gas (CNG), and hydrogen technologies alongside zero-emission options.

High capital costs, supply chain constraints, limited domestic manufacturing capacity, and operational challenges involving range, charging requirements, and climate sensitivity have slowed battery-electric bus adoption in some markets. Original equipment manufacturer instability and market concentration have also introduced additional risks for transit agencies planning vehicle procurements.
Agencies are responding with practical, multi-fuel fleet strategies. Hybrid and CNG buses are being deployed as transitional solutions to maintain service reliability and manage costs, while hydrogen fuel cell buses are being considered for longer routes and demanding operating conditions. Battery-electric buses remain central to long-term decarbonization plans, supported by a national pipeline of more than 8,000 zero-emission buses in various stages of deployment.
State and local governments continue to drive zero-emission bus adoption through investments in electric buses and charging infrastructure, particularly in California, New York, and New Jersey. This has created a dual-speed transition, with federal policy emphasizing flexibility and affordability while state programs continue advancing decarbonization targets.
Beyond vehicle technology, transit agencies are investing in depot electrification, hydrogen refueling infrastructure, bus priority corridors, bus rapid transit systems, digital fare collection, contactless payments, on-demand transportation, and microtransit services. Agencies must manage mixed fleets, changing funding criteria, infrastructure limitations, and workforce readiness while maintaining reliable service and improving the passenger experience.
The conference will bring together policymakers, transit agencies, state transportation departments, local government officials, original equipment manufacturers, component suppliers, artificial intelligence solution providers, energy companies, charging infrastructure suppliers, battery manufacturers, hydrogen infrastructure providers, funding agencies, consultants, researchers, and academics.
The conference mission is to examine state government and transit agency plans for deploying clean-fuel buses, including electric and hydrogen vehicles, and share implementation experiences, case studies, and best practices. Discussions will cover electric charging and hydrogen refueling infrastructure, innovative financing, workforce training and upskilling, and opportunities to apply artificial intelligence in bus transit. The event will also showcase technological innovations and emerging market opportunities.
Conference discussions will address evolving federal priorities, California programs and incentives, fleet transition strategies, and the roles of electric, hydrogen, hybrid, and CNG buses. Other subjects include deployment case studies, cost comparisons across technologies, scaling battery-electric fleets, hydrogen refueling infrastructure, and designing mixed fleets to balance reliability and operating costs.
Depot electrification will be another major focus, including charging strategies, grid capacity, utility partnerships, and the integration of charging infrastructure with energy storage, renewable generation, and intelligent energy management. Participants will examine tariff optimization, peak shaving, demand management, and strategies for reducing fleet energy costs.
Additional sessions will explore battery performance and lifecycle management, reliability optimization, preventive and predictive maintenance, parts availability, workforce readiness, and technical skills. Discussions will also cover OEM market developments, supply chain resilience, data quality, digital fleet management, artificial intelligence, telematics, and fleet analytics.
For Autel Energy, the event provides an opportunity to participate in discussions about the charging infrastructure, energy management, and operational requirements that will shape the next phase of transit electrification.
Clean Buses US 2026 will take place on November 18, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific, and November 19, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pacific, at the Marines’ Memorial Club & Hotel in San Francisco.
Registration is available through the Clean Buses US 2026 event page.
