Go Eve Secures Funding To Advance Innovative DockChain EV Fleet Charging Technology
Go Eve has secured investment from Innovate UK for an 18-month project to develop the next generation of DockChain, its patented technology that enables a single fast DC charger to serve multiple parking bays sequentially. DockChain is available globally and certified to U.S. standards. Funding from Innovate UK, a government innovation organization, and Go Eve’s investors will provide around $1 million towards the development of the next version of DockChain.
Announced in London on October 11, 2026, the project will build on DockChain’s existing technology to improve charging reliability and flexibility, develop new hardware and software, explore vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capabilities, and give fleet operators opportunities to trial the upgraded system.
DockChain allows multiple electric vehicles to remain plugged in while a compatible DC fast charger delivers power to them one at a time. This approach can reduce the number of chargers and electrical infrastructure required, helping operators expand charging capacity while controlling installation costs.
The new project will develop custom hardware, firmware and software to improve control over starting, stopping and restarting charging sessions without physically disconnecting vehicles. Existing DockChain installations will be upgradeable to incorporate the new technology.
Fleet deployments have highlighted challenges with different vehicle models. Some EVs fail to begin charging on the first attempt, while others do not reliably resume charging after power delivery is interrupted. Addressing these issues could improve automated charging reliability and allow operators to adjust charging priorities and schedules more effectively.

With global fuel prices reaching record highs and electric vehicles projected to account for 30% to 50% of UK commercial fleets by 2030, fleet managers are reassessing electrification costs. Making better use of existing chargers, parking bays and grid capacity could help fleets transition to electric vehicles more economically.
“We’ve already shown that fleets can serve more bays without multiplying the number of fast chargers,” said John Goodbody, Go Eve Co-Founder and Marketing Director.
Goodbody added that real-world fleet experience had revealed challenges with vehicle behavior at charging connectors, including difficulties initiating or restarting sessions after charging is paused for grid management or operational priorities. The project will address these issues to make DockChain more dependable and adaptable.
The team will also investigate how DockChain could support bidirectional charging and V2G services, potentially enabling fleets to generate revenue by supplying electricity to the grid when vehicles are not in use.

Go Eve is inviting fleet operators in the UK and the U.S. to discuss potential trial sites, particularly those with limited charging capacity, varying departure times, different vehicle charging priorities or dwell times that could support V2G revenue. Trials will be tailored to individual fleet operations as the technology becomes available.
Supported through Innovate UK’s Growth Catalyst, Investor Partnerships program, the project’s development and testing will be led by Go Eve’s engineering team in Wolverhampton, UK with the goal of delivering a production-ready version of DockChain.
DockChain is currently produced in the US and UK. The Innovate UK and investor funding means Go Eve’s engineering team in Wolverhampton, UK can deliver a new production-ready version of DockChain to their manufacturing partners in 2027.
Go Eve’s DockChain is a patented system that extends compatible DC fast charging infrastructure across multiple parking bays. Vehicles remain connected while charging is delivered sequentially according to operational priorities. The technology is deployed in Europe and North America, with customers including Stellantis, Openreach, SAP, and Detroit airport.
