Yamaha and Torqeedo have teamed up to bring select Torqeedo electric outboards to full-line Yamaha dealerships starting November 6, 2024. Customers can now purchase a range of Torqeedo models directly from dealerships, including:
Travel Ultralight (UL) models: Designed for kayaks, providing efficient electric power for smaller watercraft.
Travel models: Available in the 2-to-5 horsepower-equivalent range, suitable for small boats.
Cruise models: Offering power in the 9.9-to-25 horsepower-equivalent range, these are ideal for larger boats that need more power.
This partnership brings greater accessibility to sustainable, electric boating options for Yamaha customers and is in line with both companies’ goals to support environmentally friendly marine technology.
In early 2024, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. acquired full ownership of Torqeedo, strengthening its commitment to electric propulsion and advancing its strategy for carbon neutrality. Yamaha’s acquisition is part of a broader, multi-technology approach, which the company sees as essential to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
