Since taking office, Governor Hochul has been focused on rebuilding New York’s economy and ensuring that working families and small businesses are supported. Her administration has introduced a series of measures aimed at providing immediate relief, from financial aid for small businesses to direct support for those hardest hit by the pandemic.

Hochul’s support of clean energy, electric vehicles, and climate initiatives has been nothing short of amazing. In January, the Governor announced plans to invest over $1 billion to combat climate change and create a more sustainable future, marking the largest climate investment in New York State’s history. This initiative aims to generate jobs, reduce household energy costs, and cut pollution. The investment will focus on renewable energy, clean transportation, decarbonization efforts, and exploring emerging technologies for economic growth.

With 2024 being the hottest year on record, the proposal emphasizes the economic and moral urgency of addressing climate change.

Gov. Hochul underscored the importance of expanding EV charging infrastructure in the state. We recently reported that Revel, an EV charging infrastructure startup, secured a $60 million loan from New York’s clean energy investment fund, NY Green Bank. The $60 million loan will enable Revel to build out nine new sites across the city, which will eventually result in 267 fast-charging stalls by 2027.

“In support of the transition to a clean energy economy, it is critical that we continue to build electric vehicle infrastructure to ease the shift to EV ownership for more New Yorkers, especially those in urban areas,” the heroic Governor Hochul said.

Senator Charles Schumer has always been a steadfast advocate for electric vehicles (EVs) and clean transportation. With the growing urgency of addressing climate change and reducing carbon emissions, Schumer has championed policies and initiatives that support the adoption of electric vehicles, positioning them as a key component of the nation’s future infrastructure and environmental strategy.

Recognizing the vital role that EVs play in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving air quality, and curbing dependence on fossil fuels, Schumer has fought for significant investments in EV infrastructure, research, and manufacturing.

One of his key priorities has been securing funding to expand the nation’s electric vehicle charging network. Schumer understands that widespread EV adoption requires an extensive, accessible, and reliable charging infrastructure. In advocating for funding to build more EV charging stations, he’s worked to ensure that New Yorkers and Americans across the country have the resources they need to transition to electric vehicles with confidence.

In 2025, strong leaders like Gov. Hochul and Senator Schumer are needed more than ever. EVinfo.net urges you to support these heroes any way you can.
