Ryder Provides 70 Rivian Commercial Vans to HelloFresh
In a major win for sustainable logistics, Rivian Automotive, Inc.—America’s leading all-electric automaker—and HelloFresh, the world’s leading meal kit provider, announced on April 16, 2025 a significant carbon savings milestone through their EV fleet partnership.
Together, the two companies have eliminated over 200 tonnes of CO2 emissions, the equivalent of what 300 acres of U.S. forest can sequester in a year, by swapping traditional delivery vans for Rivian’s all-electric Commercial Van.
HelloFresh has integrated 70 Rivian electric vans into its fleet, specifically under its Factor brand. These vehicles have already driven over 250,000 miles, replacing approximately 20,000 gallons of gasoline and pushing nearly a quarter of HelloFresh’s fleet to electric.
“Fresh prepared food is one of the fastest growing grocery segments, and Factor leads the market with healthy, convenient, high-quality, ready-to-eat meals,” said Nunzio Di Savino, VP, US Logistics for HelloFresh. “We’re taking this opportunity to showcase Factor’s dedication to sustainability through impactful branding, including our delivery fleet.”
This marks a key moment for Rivian as well—HelloFresh is Rivian’s first major fleet customer since the automaker opened commercial van sales to the public earlier this year.
Di Savino says, “Finding sustainable solutions is one of our core values, including ensuring that our operations run as efficiently and cleanly as possible. By adding the Rivian Commercial Van into our fleet, not only have we cut our CO2 emissions, but we also play our role in helping to clean the air in the cities in which we operate.”
HelloFresh’s commitment to cutting carbon doesn’t stop at the vehicles themselves. The company has optimized its last-mile delivery network to minimize travel distances between distribution hubs and customers, reducing the need for extra packaging like ice packs and insulation. In fact, each box now has 6–10% less packaging weight, and food waste is down due to faster delivery times.
With transit hubs in 14 urban markets, deploying EVs in densely populated areas helps avoid emissions from frequent idling and stop-and-go traffic—conditions that burn more fuel in traditional gas vehicles.

Tom Solomon, VP, B2B Growth & Business Development at Rivian said, “We’re delighted that HelloFresh has joined us on our mission to cut emissions and protect our environment. HelloFresh delivers to millions of customers in the U.S., so by adding more electric vehicles to its fleet, it has not only helped reduce their carbon output, but has improved air quality in cities across the U.S. We’re looking forward to working with Ryder to help HelloFresh achieve their climate goals.”
A Van Designed for the Planet—and the People Driving It
The Rivian Commercial Van is engineered from the ground up with safety, sustainability, and efficiency in mind. Features like automatic emergency braking, 360-degree visibility, and collision warnings make it one of the safest delivery vehicles on the road. Under the hood (or under the floor, rather), Rivian’s proprietary software platform powers advanced fleet management tools that improve route efficiency and reduce the total cost of ownership.
To make this electric transition smoother, HelloFresh is also partnering with Ryder through its RyderElectric+ program. Ryder is providing leasing, advisory, and maintenance services, ensuring HelloFresh’s EV fleet remains efficient and on the road, helping the company reach its broader sustainability goals.
