Waffle House and bp pulse Partner to Bring Ultrafast EV Charging to the South
In a move that fuses southern hospitality with cutting-edge technology, Waffle House made a momentous announcement this week, that it formed a new partnership with bp pulse to install 400kW ultrafast EV chargers at its restaurants across the Southeastern and Sunbelt regions of the United States. Beginning in 2026, the famously 24/7 diner chain will add EV charging to its menu of customer conveniences, making it easier for drivers to power up their vehicles while fueling up on waffles, hash browns, and other beloved breakfast staples.
As part of this agreement, each participating Waffle House location will feature six ultrafast EV charging bays, equipped with both CCS and NACS connectors to support a wide range of electric vehicles. Initial deployments will focus on Texas, Georgia, Florida, and additional southern states, with the first 50 sites already in progress.
This collaboration is a significant step forward for bp pulse, the EV charging arm of bp, which is building out a comprehensive U.S. charging network by prioritizing high-demand locations where drivers actually want to stop. Waffle House fits that bill perfectly, offering a consistent, welcoming environment with hot food and restrooms—an often-overlooked challenge for EV drivers used to finding chargers in isolated parking lots or industrial zones.
Sujay Sharma, CEO of bp pulse Americas, said: “Adding an iconic landmark like Waffle House to our growing portfolio of EV charging sites is such an exciting opportunity. As an integrated energy company, bp is committed to providing efficient solutions like ultrafast charging to support our customers’ mobility needs. We’re building a robust network of ultrafast chargers across the country, and this is another example of third-party collaborations enabling access to charging co-located with convenient amenities for EV drivers.”

The partnership also aligns with bp pulse’s broader U.S. strategy, which includes deploying EV charging at more than 8,000 retail locations across the country, including TravelCenters of America, Thorntons, and Amoco. With over 40,000 charge points globally, bp pulse is one of the world’s largest EV charging providers and continues to expand rapidly, with the U.S. marked as one of its four priority markets.
Founded in 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, Waffle House has grown into an American institution, operating over 2,000 restaurants in 25 states. Known for its iconic yellow sign and its reputation for never closing—rain, shine, or holiday—the chain is beloved for its round-the-clock comfort food and community roots.
David Repp, Director of Innovation at Waffle House, said: “Waffle House is thrilled to collaborate with bp pulse to offer our customers a safe, well-lit and welcoming place to enjoy Good Food Fast any time of day. Charging up while fueling up on an All-Star Special will be convenient and fast – a perfect option for enjoying the Waffle House experience while charging your EV on the go.”
Now, Waffle House is taking its commitment to serving America one step further—by helping to drive the future of transportation, one waffle and one kilowatt at a time.
