Empowering Equitable Electric Mobility: The Mission and Impact of Forth

Forth Mobility is a nonprofit organization dedicated to electrifying transportation by building inclusive, sustainable mobility systems. With a mission to reduce pollution and dismantle barriers to clean transportation, Forth brings together diverse stakeholders, including communities, businesses, and policymakers, to drive meaningful change.

Equity lies at the heart of Forth’s efforts. Understanding that marginalized communities often face limited access to clean mobility, Forth has launched numerous initiatives designed to bridge this gap. Programs include rural EV carsharing (CRuSE in Oregon), low-income service agency charging access (SiLVERS in Missouri), fair financing for rideshare drivers, and electric tractor pilot programs—all aimed at expanding access to underserved areas.

Forth’s work spans five strategic categories:

Access to Electric Cars: From community carsharing and mobile showcases to EV loans and support for gig drivers, Forth boosts equitable access.

Access to Charging: Whether at workplaces, multifamily housing, or community sites, Forth advocates for smart and equitable charging infrastructure.

Emerging Modes: Forth addresses electrification needs beyond cars—e-bikes, electric school buses, agricultural equipment, and micromobility, ensuring these innovations reach underserved populations.

Policy and Leadership: Forth influences policy at both national and local levels, including TEEM (Towards Equitable Electric Mobility) community-building and advocacy for post-oil funding models.

Industry Engagement: Through pilot projects, the Roadmap Conference, utility partnerships, and national outreach, Forth fosters collaboration and scales equitable clean mobility solutions.

The organization draws strength from its leadership team. At the helm is Executive Director Jeff Allen, supported by a skilled team focused on programs, equity, operations, partnerships, events, and emerging mobility solutions.

By connecting innovation with justice, Forth ensures that the benefits of clean transportation, environmental health, cost savings, and accessibility, reach all communities. Through practical programs, equity-driven policy, and powerful collaboration, Forth is charting a cleaner, fairer path forward for mobility in the U.S. and beyond.
