GSA Expands Contract With Eaton to Include Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment, Help Accelerate Low-carbon Federal Infrastructure Projects

Eaton, a leading power management company, recently made strides in promoting clean energy by expanding its contract with the General Services Administration (GSA) to include electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) and related services. This strategic move aligns with the U.S. government’s ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 – a critical milestone in the fight against climate change.

A notable recipient of Eaton’s expanded services is the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. The center is procuring Green Motion EV chargers from Eaton, using the GSA schedule, in a bid to fast-track the development of the country’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure. This initiative not only underscores the VA’s commitment to sustainability but also serves as a tangible example of the transformative impact of EV technology on our everyday lives.

Eaton continues to demonstrate its commitment to the U.S. market and the broader aim of sustainable energy, making substantial investments in its operations and manufacturing base to meet growing customer demand. This includes a focus on solutions for powering homes and businesses, as well as federal electrification projects. In a bid to bolster these efforts, the company has added more than 1,000 U.S. jobs across various manufacturing and business roles, strengthening its team of over 26,000 U.S.-based employees spread across 253 facilities.

Moreover, Eaton’s latest additions to the General Services Administration (GSA) blanket purchase agreement (BPA) extend beyond its contract for electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE). The new inclusions feature its smart breaker chargers and energy storage solutions, thereby broadening the spectrum of products and services it offers. Notably, the GSA contract additions also furnish a framework to support state and local government EVSE projects. This encompasses necessary upgrades and updates to building energy systems, further cementing Eaton’s role in the push towards a sustainable and energy-efficient future.
