Bentley Unveils the Torcal, Its First All-Electric Vehicle
Bentley unveiled the Torcal, its first all-electric vehicle, at a global debut in London. The luxury electric SUV delivers up to 888 PS (876 hp), uses a 113 kWh battery and offers up to 375 miles (600 km) of WLTP range.
The Torcal becomes Bentley’s fourth model line, joining the Continental GT, Flying Spur and Bentayga. It is designed, engineered and built in Crewe, England.

Bentley’s First Electric Vehicle
Bentley has been discussing an EV for nearly a decade, first considering a smaller electric SUV below the Bentayga in 2017 before confirming in 2024 that its first EV would be a sleek urban SUV arriving in 2026.
At five meters long, the Torcal is Bentley’s shortest four-door model, while still providing 460 liters of trunk space and a 90-liter frunk. Its design features a long wheelbase, short overhangs and a new illuminated diamond grille inspired by the Continental T. It is also the first Bentley to feature the company’s redesigned emblem.

Two Versions
The Torcal launches in two configurations. The standard model produces 821 PS (810 hp), 1,194 Nm of torque, reaches 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and has a 155 mph top speed.
The Torcal S produces 888 PS (876 hp) and 1,350 Nm (996 lb-ft) with Launch Control. It reaches 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and tops out at 162 mph.
The S receives black brightware, dark taillights, a rear diffuser, red brake calipers and standard 22-inch wheels. The standard Torcal uses 21-inch wheels.
Bentley says acceleration was deliberately limited because extreme performance can be uncomfortable for some customers.

Battery And Charging
Both versions use two permanent-magnet synchronous motors, one on each axle, with a locking rear differential. The 113 kWh battery contains 192 lithium-ion pouch cells and operates on an 800V architecture. Bentley provides a 10-year, 100,000-mile battery warranty.
WLTP range reaches 375 miles, although U.S. EPA figures have not yet been released.
The Torcal supports up to 400 kW DC fast charging. Bentley says a 10% to 80% charge can take 16 minutes, adding roughly 100 miles of range in seven minutes. The company’s launch materials also describe the same charging session as taking just under 20 minutes.

Active Suspension And Luxury Interior
The Torcal is Bentley’s first model with fully active suspension. Each wheel can be raised or lowered independently, allowing Bentley to eliminate conventional anti-roll bars. All-wheel steering is standard and reduces the turning circle to 11.1 meters.
The SUV also features a simulated powertrain soundtrack called the “Bentley Dynamic Symphony,” created from recordings of drums, viola and bass guitar inspired by Bentley’s 6.75-liter V8. The system responds to torque demand and vehicle speed and can be switched off.
The cabin features curved OLED displays, an augmented-reality head-up display, facial recognition and four Experience Modes: Bentley, Comfort, Sport and Refresh. Physical controls remain on the center console and steering wheel.
Bentley also introduces what it describes as the world’s first 100% Merino wool automotive fabric, developed with Somerset weaver Fox Brothers. An Ombré Walnut veneer uses walnut off-cuts and recycled paper.
Additional equipment includes 25 radar, sensor and camera systems for driver assistance and remote parking, four powered doors, switchable glass and an optional 1,780-watt, 28-speaker Naim audio system.
Bentley has not announced pricing or a delivery date for the Torcal.
