Faraday Future to Showcase FF 91 Futurist at 2023 Consumer Electronics Show

Faraday Future, the innovative California-based company revolutionizing the electric mobility ecosystem, is set to make a much-anticipated return to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2023), happening January 5-8, 2023, in Las Vegas, NV. The star of the show will be the FF 91 Futurist, displayed at Innovusion’s booth (West Hall, Booth #6925) at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This announcement comes on the heels of FF’s selection of Innovusion’s Falcon LiDAR technology for the FF 91’s advanced autonomous driving system. The Falcon LiDAR, known for its seamless integration and ability to provide real-time 3D vision in challenging weather and lighting conditions, promises to elevate safety and reliability in autonomous driving to unprecedented levels.

Innovusion’s Falcon LiDAR technology forms the backbone of the FF 91 Futurist’s advanced autonomous driving system, designed to provide an unprecedented level of environmental awareness. The system’s long-distance capability and high angular resolution enable detection of other vehicles in the FF 91’s path up to a staggering 1,600 feet away – equivalent to the length of over five football fields. Moreover, the system exhibits meticulous attention to detail, capable of detecting pedestrians and even small road debris over 650 feet away. This superior perception range and accuracy stand to greatly enhance both the safety and reliability of autonomous driving.

Faraday Future anticipates commencing production of the FF 91 Futurist, its flagship electric vehicle, by the end of March 2023. If all goes to plan, the first saleable vehicles should roll off the assembly line in early April, with deliveries expected to occur before the end of that month. These ambitious timelines, however, are contingent upon the successful procurement of an additional $150 to $170 million in funding and the approval by stockholders of an increase in authorized shares. In a promising turn of events, FF has recently received a $30 million binding letter of intent draft from an existing investor. The agreement is currently awaiting approval by the FF Board and is subject to conditions, including the negotiation and execution of definitive documentation.

“The Consumer Electronics Show is the pinnacle setting of the newest and most influential technology in the world, so it was essential that we bring our technology-packed flagship FF 91 Futurist back to this show,” said Xuefeng (“XF”) Chen, Global Chief Executive Officer of FF. “Innovusion’s long-range and high-resolution Falcon LiDAR is the only product of its kind being mass-produced for consumer vehicles. With partners like Innovusion, the FF 91 Futurist will set new standards in driver assistance technologies that will help us achieve new levels of safety, driver comfort, and convenience in the luxury electric vehicle marketplace. And we are excited to explore opportunities to integrate Innovusion’s new product lines into future car models as well.”

Faraday Future continues to advance with its rigorous testing and validation of the FF 91 Futurist, courtesy of the Product and Technology Generation 2.0 program (PT Gen 2.0). The step-up from PT Gen 1.0 to PT Gen 2.0 comprises considerable upgrades of systems and core components pertaining to both the vehicle and the I.A.I area. I.A.I, an acronym for Internet, Autonomous Driving, and Intelligence, represents the advanced core of the vehicle’s functionalities. Through PT Gen 2.0, upgrades of 26 major systems and components have been carried out, significantly bolstering the performance of the FF 91 Futurist. This includes 13 critical enhancements across powertrain, battery, charging, chassis, and interior sections within the EV areas. Additionally, the computing, sensing, communication, and user interaction elements have received 13 key upgrades, leading to a significant boost in the vehicle’s overall performance.

In a significant update, the company recently announced the successful completion of its sixth manufacturing milestone – the end of construction and completion of equipment installation in the vehicle assembly areas. This progress marks the achievement of six out of the seven milestones that Faraday Future had outlined in late 2021, as part of its roadmap towards the commencement of production for the FF 91 Futurist. The only remaining milestone, the seventh, is the Start of Production (SOP). This accomplishment is another giant stride towards bringing the FF 91 Futurist to market, demonstrating the company’s commitment to meeting its ambitious timelines and offering a strong signal to both investors and potential customers about the imminent arrival of this innovative electric vehicle.
