Spec Tesla Torture Test Achieves 24 Minutes at Circuit of The Americas (COTA)

February 6, 2023 | Spec Tesla Cup

Following a successful Full Self Driving road trip in the race car to IMSA’s Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona the previous weekend from Austin, TX and back, Spec Telsa’s Drew Cleaver and Pramoda Ravi attended Chin Trackdays with Blake Fuller at Circuit of the Americas Sunday, February 5th, 2023.

A successful sprint race simulation exiting pit lane with 95% battery state of charge, running a fast warm-up out lap with seven timed full flying laps plus a cool down in lap, totaling 24 minutes of on-track time over 30 miles straight without overheating was successfully completed.

There is a v3 250kw Tesla Supercharger just 4 minutes and 2% battery away from the COTA paddock making recharging fast and leisurely.

The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect (240 treadwear) tires performed flawlessly cold, straight out of pit lane, holding consistent grip and predictability throughout the session in the 3,555lb 2021 Tesla Model 3 RWD (Standard Range Plus, SR+, $36,990 MSRP) concept customer racing car (~3900lb with driver and passenger).

As usual, the Tesla race cars of Cleaver and Fuller brought non-stop curious questions and enthusiastic intrigue with primary interest amongst GT3-owning gentleman drivers.

Why? Because a Spec Tesla offers more supplemental track time within a day and more opportunities to entertain friends, family, and business partners with an unforgettable experience on the F1 track at an unimaginably affordable operating cost, similar to a high-performance dinghy complementing a superyacht.

Spec Tesla offers an affordable and sustainable option for minimum stress and maximum fun track days while retaining Full Self Driving, complete HVAC, audio, and as-equipped safety amenities with OEM functionality.

Spec Tesla aims to offer luxury trackside hospitality paired with the most pleasurable and affordable arrive & drive customer racing experience on the market with over 75 years of combined motorsport experience between Drew Cleaver, Collin Robb, and Matt Jaskol, ranging from junior leadership development to professional motorsport management.

Spec Tesla’s ultimate goal is to offer a dozen or more entries to arrive and drive customers as a support series for a leading professional sanctioning body by 2024, utilizing a fully sustainable lifecycle business plan to maximize value, fun, and entertainment while being at utmost conscious of running costs and sustainability efficiencies.

Spec Tesla is full steam ahead on a plan to bring this concept to market in 2024 with many opportunities to test drive and enjoy our hospitality throughout 2023.

Later in 2023, we will be moving into our shop space across from COTA, taking delivery of our first Tesla Semi, and throughout the year, will be hosting luxury trackside hospitality at select national events, COTA track days, and on request.

Spec Tesla can arrange demo arrive and drives, as well as complimentary ride-alongs in the passenger seat.
