Driving electric vehicle adoption

Lincoln Electric Announces Rugged and Powerful New 200 kW Velion EV Chargers

EV charging infrastructure is growing rapidly across North America as electric vehicle (EV) adoption expands, fleets electrify, and demand for convenient public and commercial charging increases.

The market is seeing increasing investment in DC fast charging, workplace charging, fleet depots, and charging solutions for dealerships and other commercial locations. At the same time, charging operators and site owners are placing greater emphasis on reliability, uptime, installation flexibility, and efficient use of available power. This creates opportunities for charging manufacturers to provide scalable solutions that can serve a wide range of applications, from high-power public charging stations to compact mobile chargers.

Both Designed For Easy Installation

Both new Velion systems are designed with ease of installation in mind. A skid-mounted configuration can make installation easier by providing a deployment-ready system, while the compact footprint can help charging operators maximize available space at a site. Only the 200 kW Dual is available with a skid mounted option.

The combination of multiple charging ports, intelligent power distribution, compact footprints, skid-mounted installation, warranty coverage, and nationwide service is intended to make the systems easier to deploy while providing the reliability required for demanding EV charging applications.

Lincoln Electric’s EV Chargers Build on More Than 130 years of American Manufacturing and Engineering Experience

Lincoln Electric is an iconic American company founded in 1895. Lincoln Electric’s entry into EV charging builds on more than 130 years of American manufacturing and engineering experience. The company is bringing expertise developed through electric motors, welding, industrial equipment, power systems, and manufacturing into an EV market that increasingly depends on high-power, reliable charging infrastructure.

In October 2025, EVinfo.net interviewed Bruce Chantry, Lincoln Electric’s Vice President Electric Vehicle Solutions, about the company’s entry into the EV charging industry.

By entering the EV charging industry, Lincoln Electric is applying its core engineering and manufacturing strengths to a rapidly expanding adjacent market.

One of the consistent complaints about existing DC fast charging infrastructure is unreliable performance, high downtime, environmental vulnerability, and a lack of robust service support. Lincoln Electric sees an opportunity to differentiate itself by drawing on its reputation for rugged, industrial-grade equipment.

The company is also leveraging its existing service network and manufacturing scale to provide customers with support after installation. The strategy is not simply about offering another EV charger. Lincoln Electric is focused on durability, reliability, serviceability, and uptime as important parts of the charging experience.

EV charging is a fast-growing segment with strong market drivers, including vehicle electrification, fleet electrification, increasing demand for public charging, government programs, and consumer demand. For Lincoln Electric, entering EV infrastructure represents a significant growth opportunity and a way to diversify beyond its traditional markets while continuing to leverage its existing capabilities in power electronics, manufacturing, service, and reliability.

Lincoln Electric’s Rugged and Powerful Velion® 50 kW DC Mobile EV Charger

Lincoln Electric’s Velion® 50 kW DC fast charger adds a highly flexible option to the company’s EV charging portfolio, combining fast charging capability with a compact, mobile design. The charger can provide scalable 12.5 kW, 25 kW, or 50 kW output and is available with wheels, ground mounting, or a rugged roll cage configuration.

It supports both CCS1 and NACS connectors and is designed to avoid the trenching and permitting often associated with permanent charging installations. Built for demanding conditions, the charger features trayed and potted circuit boards, smart diagnostics, and remote monitoring, along with more than 70% domestic content and Buy America compliance.

Its lightweight, space-saving form factor and plug-and-play design make it easier to maneuver and deploy where conventional charging equipment may not fit.

Lincoln’s Velion® DC fast charger is designed to operate across extreme temperature ranges, from very cold to very hot, with a targeted uptime of more than 97%.

Lincoln Electric backs the Velion 50 kW DC fast charger with a three-year standard warranty and a nationwide service network, extending the company’s industrial support capabilities into EV charging.

Benefits of Mobile Charging

Mobile EV chargers provide flexibility that permanent charging stations cannot always offer. Because they can be moved to where charging demand exists, they can support dealerships, fleet operations, construction sites, events, emergency response, and temporary charging needs without requiring a permanent installation. Mobile chargers can also provide overflow capacity when existing stations are busy or unavailable, help keep vehicles operating when a permanent charger is out of service, and reduce the need for costly site construction, trenching, and electrical infrastructure.

Their smaller footprint can make deployment easier in locations where space is limited, while scalable power options allow operators to match charging capacity to specific needs. For businesses, mobile EV charging can provide a practical way to add charging capacity quickly while evaluating future permanent infrastructure investments.

Proudly Made in America, First U.S. Company to Earn NEMA’s EVSE BABA Certification

Lincoln Electric announced on September 23, 2026, that it has become the first electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) manufacturer to earn product-level certification under the National Electrical Manufacturers Association’s (NEMA) Make It American program, marking a significant milestone for the EV charging industry.

The U.S. government has established and implemented programs designed to accelerate EV adoption and charging infrastructure deployment, including the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. Lincoln Electric is positioning its Velion products to meet or exceed applicable domestic-content requirements associated with these infrastructure programs.

Velion chargers exceed domestic-content thresholds and are American-designed and American-assembled. By aligning its products with domestic manufacturing requirements and infrastructure funding opportunities, Lincoln Electric can participate in procurement programs that place an emphasis on American-made equipment. The company is NEMA and BABA certified.

The NEMA Make It American® BABA Registry is a dynamic, real-time directory providing information about facilities certified to NEMA’s supply chain evaluation process standard, NEMA 70901-2024, as well as products licensed to NEMA’s Build America Buy America (BABA) Product Specifications. Lincoln Electric is listed as an official supplier.

For charging operators, fleets, workplaces, and public charging locations, the Velion portfolio is designed to provide more charging access while addressing the practical requirements of installation, power distribution, reliability, service, and long-term operation.
