FreeWire Technologies Avoids Limitations of the Electric Grid With Innovative, Fully-Integrated Ultrafast Electric Vehicle (EV) Chargers
FreeWire’s turnkey EV charging solutions deliver for reliable electrification beyond the grid. The company currently offers two EV chargers and a software platform for managing EV charging. FreeWire was founded in 2014 by CEO Arcady Sosinov, and is located in San Leandro, California. In May 2022, FreeWire hosted the grand opening of its global headquarters, R&D, and manufacturing facility in Newark, California.
FreeWire’s innovative electric vehicle (EV) Boost Chargers
FreeWire offers two Boost Chargers, The Boost Charger 150 and Boost Charger 200. Both chargers are OCPP compliant, offer CCS and CHAdeMO connections, include 160 kWh integrated lithium-ion batteries, and can charge two vehicles simultaneously.
The Boost Charger 150 offers up to 100 miles of range in 10 minutes, with outputs: CCS: 150 kW, and CHAdeMO: 100 kW. The Boost Charger 200 adds up to 200 miles of range in 15 minutes, with outputs: CCS: 200 kW and CHAdeMO: 100 kW.
FreeWire’s EV chargers offer a battery-integrated design that seamlessly connects to existing infrastructure. The chargers only need one-eighth of the input power required of legacy EV charging. This is a key innovation that sets FreeWire Technologies apart from other EV charging companies, in a class of their own.
FreeWire’s AMP, a superior platform for managing EV charging
FreeWire offers an advanced software platform for managing EV charging. Their Asset Management Platform (AMPTM), provides the data and tools necessary to easily manage single or multiple Boost Chargers. The platform features real-time data insights to understand energy costs, and users enjoy savings through peak shaving and other methods. Detailed analytics track customer behavior, charger utilization, and utilization forecasting.
FreeWire Technologies receives awards from Fast Company and others
FreeWire’s amazing innovations in EV charging prompted the company to be named to Fast Company’s prestigious annual list of the world’s most innovative companies in March 2022. Additionally, FreeWire Technologies was named as a finalist in Fast Company’s 2022 World Changing Ideas Awards’ Transportation Category for its flagship product, the Boost Charger. FreeWire has received a variety of other impressive awards as well, going back to 2016.
“FreeWire is honored to have our Boost Charger recognized by Fast Company as a World Changing Idea,” said FreeWire CEO and Founder Arcady Sosinov. “As the United States and the world move towards electrified transportation, the most significant barrier to mass EV adoption is the electric grid. FreeWire’s technology is making it possible to deploy ultrafast charging just about anywhere, allowing new participants to enter the electric vehicle charging market more quickly and at a lower cost than previously possible.”
FreeWire’s partnerships with gas station companies disrupt the EV charging market
In November 2022, FreeWire Technologies announced a program to make their battery-integrated electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment available at Chevron’s branded stations. FreeWire has partnered with other gas fueling companies in the past, disrupting the EV charging market. Other partners include companies such as bp and Phillips66.
