Volcon, GLV and ElectraMeccanica Announce Assembly Agreement Utilizing ElectraMeccanica’s Mesa, AZ Facility
Volcon Inc. (NASDAQ: VLCN), a pioneer in the all-electric off-road powersports sector, in conjunction with ElectraMeccanica Vehicles Corp. (NASDAQ: SOLO), an innovator and producer of electric vehicles that are redefining urban mobility, have announced a new partnership. Volcon’s manufacturing collaborator, GLV, has selected ElectraMeccanica’s state-of-the-art, recently inaugurated headquarters in Mesa, Arizona, as the final assembly location for Volcon’s cutting-edge Grunt EVO and Runt fat-tired electric motorcycles. This 235,000-square-foot facility will serve as the production hub for these next-generation electric motorcycles, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of the electric vehicle market.
“Our move is a significant milestone for us as we strive to bring manufacturing back to the United States, speed up the launch of our vehicles, and attempt to establish first-mover advantage in the electrification of the off-road powersports industry,” said Jordan Davis, CEO of Volcon ePowersports. “Additionally, we’re continuing to speed up our development and go-to-market process by adding this arrangement to our many key component suppliers such as BF Goodrich, Gates and several other key component providers.”
Susan E. Docherty, ElectraMeccanica CEO, stated: “Volcon’s an absolutely terrific fit for our Mesa facility, which has one of the best lean-assembly teams in the business. When we commissioned our Mesa HQ in December 2022, we said one of our primary goals was not only to assemble our own unique designs there, but also to help fellow native-EV manufacturers achieve their own go-to-market goals by leveraging our expertise and resources. I’m very proud to be able to contribute to Volcon’s success, and to use our plant to help grow the EV market overall.”
Founded in the Austin, Texas area, Volcon Inc. has made history as the premier all-electric powersports company, delivering high-quality, sustainable electric vehicles to the outdoor community. The electric vehicles produced by Volcon, including their groundbreaking Grunt EVO and Runt fat-tired electric motorcycles, represent the future of off-roading. The environmental benefits of these electric vehicles are clear, dramatically reducing emissions compared to their gas-powered counterparts. But the revolution doesn’t stop there. Volcon’s electric vehicles operate nearly silently, minimizing noise pollution and offering a more immersive outdoor experience, thus transforming the way we enjoy off-roading. This represents a new era in sustainable outdoor exploration, and Volcon is leading the charge.
Volcon’s ambitious 2023 vehicle roadmap marks the expansion of its product line across North America. The Grunt, Volcon’s innovative and first product, has been available to customers since late 2021. It pairs a fat-tired physique with high-torque electric power, contributing to a near-silent drive train that reshapes conventional off-road experiences. The Runt, a mini version of the groundbreaking Grunt, caters to smaller stature riders or compact trails. Despite its smaller size, the Runt still offers formidable off-road capabilities, also serving as a pit bike at race events.
In a strategic move to penetrate the booming eBike market, Volcon introduced the Brat, which caters to both on-road and off-road riders. The Brat is currently being shipped to dealers across North America. Additionally, Volcon launched a line of electric dirt bikes for young riders aged 4 to 11, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability across all age brackets.
Most recently, Volcon unveiled the Stag, marking its entry into the fast-growing UTV market. The Stag revolutionizes outdoor exploration, offering exhilarating performance akin to a conventional UTV but without the associated noise or pollution. This unique attribute enables drivers to embrace the outdoors with all their senses, further enhancing their connection with nature.
