Ford Dealerships Provide Over 3,000 Public Fast Charging Stations
Ford released news about its public charging offerings on August 28, 2025, showing a strong commitment to EV drivers and addressing the important need for more public charging availability.

Ford Charge Officially Launches at 320 Dealerships with Nearly 1,200 DC Fast Chargers
Over 800 Ford dealerships across the U.S. and Canada are now providing public access to more than 3,000 DC fast chargers, giving electric vehicle drivers reliable charging options for stress-free road trips to their favorite destinations. Yesterday, Ford announced the official launch of Ford Charge, a new charging network backed by Ford and now operating at more than 320 dealerships with nearly 1,200 Ford-branded fast chargers. These chargers are open to all compatible EVs, regardless of make or model.
Ford dealers are free to select charging providers, but hundreds have chosen Ford itself to manage network operations. The new Ford Charge network is fully integrated into the BlueOval Charge Network, North America’s largest public charging network, which provides Ford EV drivers with access to chargers within 18 miles on most U.S. highways. Drivers can easily locate stations, check availability, and view pricing through the FordPass app, PlugShare, or the Shell Recharge app.
At John Grappone Ford in Bow, New Hampshire, the launch of Ford Charge feels like coming full circle. Dealer principal Amanda Grappone Osmer recalls that her great-grandparents first entered the fueling business in 1924, opening a Gulf gas station in Concord, NH.
A century later, her dealership has installed six DC fast chargers, helping drivers experience the same freedom of the open road, this time with electric vehicles.
“We are proud to be the first Ford dealer in the country to go live on the Ford Charge Network,” Osmer said.
Beyond convenience, Ford Charge also focuses on customer support, offering 24/7 live assistance for anyone using the network. Whether drivers need help starting a charge or troubleshooting, support agents are available any time of day. Customers have already praised the service, including one driver who wrote, “Kudos to your location for putting in high-speed charging stations! We were able to charge our Lightning going from one campground to another!”
Ford Charge represents the next step in Ford’s century-long commitment to mobility and innovation. Just as the company once helped America embrace the gas-powered automobile, Ford is now building the infrastructure to power an electrified future.
Ford Stepping Up EV Production
In August, Ford officially revealed the Ford Universal EV Platform and the Ford Universal EV Production System, marking a major milestone in its transition toward electrification. The Universal EV Platform is designed to serve as a flexible foundation for a wide range of vehicles, from trucks and SUVs to crossovers and future models, delivering greater efficiency, range, and performance. Complementing it, the Universal EV Production System introduces a streamlined, highly adaptable manufacturing approach that allows Ford to build multiple vehicle types on the same line, reduce costs, and scale production faster. Together, these innovations signal Ford’s commitment to reshaping its operations for a new era of electric mobility while preserving the company’s legacy of accessible, mass-market transportation.
EVinfo.net’s Take: EV Charging at Hyundai of Escondido
One of the coolest things about the electric vehicle (EV) revolution is that EVs can be recharged anywhere a parking space with electricity is available. Imagine the overwhelming convenience if that was true in the gas-powered vehicle world. But it’s not.
Most US EV drivers charge at home for maximum cost savings and convenience. However, many drivers can’t charge at home, especially multifamily dwellers. Also, EV drivers taking long trips need to seek out public charging, which can be hard to find in some areas, known as “charging deserts.”
One resource for public EV charging that is not discussed much in EV-focused media is auto dealerships. This is outstanding news from Ford.
But we should also mention other car dealerships across the country also do this. I experienced this first-hand when shopping for a used EV recently. I test drove a IONIQ 5 battery electric vehicle at Hyundai of Escondido, and it is an amazing vehicle which drove beautifully. This dealership is located in EVinfo.net’s home county of San Diego, California.
While I was there, a Hyundai EV driver came and plugged in his EV to charge. I asked him about it, he said he bought from the dealership and it is the most convenient location for him to charge.
