Kia’s Low-Cost EV4 Sedan is Getting a GT Version

Kia’s first global electric sedan, the EV4, is shaping up to be one of the most exciting EV releases of 2025. Already affordable and stylish, the EV4 is now about to get a thrilling upgrade: a GT variant. Here’s a sneak peek at what could be the most compelling entry-level electric sports car on the market.

The EV4 has already made waves in South Korea, starting at just around $30,000 (41.92 million won), with global pricing for Europe and the U.S. expected to fall between $35,000 and $40,000. But now Kia is dialing up the excitement. Remember the EV6 GT? That 576-hp rocket could outpace Ferraris and Lamborghinis in a 0-60 sprint, and the new EV4 GT seems poised to continue that legacy—albeit in a more affordable, practical package.

Recently spotted outside Kia and Hyundai’s facility in South Korea, the EV4 GT reveals a few intriguing details. The interior mirrors the plush, high-tech vibes of the EV9 GT, complete with an adjustable ambient lighting feature and likely equipped with Kia’s advanced ccNC infotainment system. The panoramic curved display is expected to include dual 12.3-inch screens for both the driver and navigation, creating a sleek, futuristic cabin.

On the outside, the EV4 GT will likely feature a bolder front fascia and larger wheels, aligning with Kia’s GT design language. Under the hood—or rather, under the floor—the EV4 GT is expected to pack an AWD dual-motor setup, offering that instant electric torque and thrilling performance that’s quickly becoming a Kia GT trademark.

In South Korea, the EV4 already comes with two battery options: 58.2 kWh and 81.4 kWh, offering up to 331 miles (533 km) of range. The GT variant will probably use the larger pack to deliver a solid 330-mile EPA range in the U.S., along with plenty of power for that GT badge.

While final specs remain under wraps, the EV4 GT’s pricing is expected to land somewhere between $50,000 and $55,000—substantially less than the $63,800 EV6 GT.

Kia Opens EV4 Orders in South Korea with 330+ Miles of Range—And It Starts Under $30,000

Kia’s first electric sedan, the EV4, has officially arrived, and it’s making a big splash in the Korean market. Kia opened orders for the EV4 in March, starting at an impressive 41.92 million won—about $29,000—before incentives. Even better, this sleek electric sedan boasts the longest driving range of any Hyundai Motor Group EV so far, topping out at over 330 miles (533 km).

The EV4 was first revealed as a concept in late 2023 and has quickly become one of the most eagerly awaited EVs of 2025. At Kia EV Day, reporters got their first real look at the production model, which includes both sedan and hatchback versions. It’s part of Kia’s ambitious “EVs for all” strategy, aiming to cover a wide price range and multiple market segments—from $30,000 budget-friendly options to high-performance models topping $80,000.

The standard “Air” version of the EV4 features a 58.3 kWh battery, providing up to 237 miles (382 km) of driving range. For those looking to go the extra mile (literally), the long-range model, starting at 46.29 million won (about $31,800), packs an 81.4 kWh battery with a class-leading 331 miles (533 km) of range. That’s more than any other Hyundai Motor Group EV currently on the road.

The EV4 also happens to be Kia’s most aerodynamic vehicle yet, with an ultra-low drag coefficient of just 0.23. Paired with 350 kW charging capabilities, the long-range EV4 can juice up from 10% to 80% in about 31 minutes—making it as convenient as it is capable.

As Kia’s fourth electric vehicle to hit South Korea—joining the EV6, EV9, and EV3—the EV4 marks the company’s first foray into the electric sedan space. With its dynamic, sports car-inspired silhouette and unique roof spoiler, Kia is calling it “the new look of a sedan fit for the era of electrification.”

Inside, the EV4 doesn’t disappoint. It features Kia’s latest ccNC infotainment system with dual 12.3-inch driver and navigation displays, all housed in a minimalist, high-tech cabin. There’s also a new “interior mode,” which lets you customize the seating and ambient lighting to maximize space and comfort.

Won-Jeong Jeong, Kia’s vice president and head of its domestic business, describes the EV4 as a game-changer: “The EV4 will present a new direction in the domestic electric vehicle market, which has been formed around SUVs.”

As for whether the EV4 will bring that same charm to the U.S., Europe, and other global markets? We’re about to find out soon, with Kia planning a worldwide rollout later this year. With its sleek design, spacious interior, and impressive range, the EV4 could be the affordable electric sedan that finally hits the sweet spot. The Kia US site lists the 2026 EV4 as “expected early 2026.”
