Deecell Solar Power Units Deliver Reliable Power for Sleeper Cabs, Fleet Trucks and Race Haulers
Deecell Power Systems was built from real-world frustration and firsthand experience. National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) drag racer Andrew Moeck spent decades relying on loud, fuel-hungry generators at racetracks and on the road. By 2024, he decided there had to be a better way. Instead of accepting outdated solutions, he engineered one that did more than replace generators and APUs. Deecell was created to outperform them.
“Deecell came out of pure frustration,” said Andrew Moeck, founder of Deecell. “I’ve spent years around race haulers and trucks where generators and idling were just accepted as normal. It didn’t have to be that way, so we set out to change it.”
In 2025, Deecell was named the Official Solar Power Unit of the NHRA.
“Deecell’s been a great solution for the NHRA,” said Jeff Morton, NHRA Director of Advertising/Sponsorship Sales. “We get the power we need without running generators or idling trucks, and honestly, this feels like where things are headed for haulers and over-the-road trucks.”

Deecell Solar Power Units deliver reliable, continuous 120V AC power without fuel, fumes, noise, or mechanical wear. The system is designed to dramatically reduce non drive time idling in sleeper cabs while also supporting race haulers, fleet trucks, and mobile operations. Air conditioning, lighting, electronics, and workstations stay powered cleanly and consistently, even when the engine is off.
“Everything in a truck runs on electricity whether the wheels are turning or not. Traditional solutions burn diesel just to keep essential systems operating, creating unnecessary cost, noise, and wear,” Moeck said. “Deecell eliminates that tradeoff by delivering home style power for life on the road without idling or wasting fuel.”
Deecell captures energy directly from the sun and stores it onboard to provide all night power. The system supports everyday essentials including refrigerators, microwaves, coffee machines, HVAC, lighting, WiFi hotspots, security cameras, CPAP machines, televisions, and personal electronics. Power is always available through a continuous 120V AC supply.
“Deecell lets us keep power on without keeping engines running,” said one of Deecell’s fleet customers. “We’ve cut idle time, reduced fuel use, and taken a lot of wear off our equipment, all while giving drivers reliable power when they’re parked.”
Unlike traditional APUs, Deecell has no engine and does not rely on the truck alternator. It adds no load to the drivetrain and avoids mechanical wear entirely. This results in fewer service issues, lower long term maintenance costs, and meaningful fuel savings.
With Deecell installed, trucks no longer need to idle to maintain onboard power. Fleets reduce fuel consumption, limit engine and alternator wear, lower maintenance costs, and preserve engine hours strictly for driving. Reduced idle time directly contributes to longer vehicle life and improved operating efficiency.
Deecell supports the auxiliary electrical loads fleets depend on during parked operation. This includes driver electronics, onboard systems, and trailer mounted equipment such as liftgates. System configurations are sized based on actual fleet usage to ensure reliable performance without oversizing.
For day cabs and trailers, Deecell provides a dedicated onboard power source that eliminates reliance on tractor to trailer power cables. This reduces electrical faults, corrosion, and downtime while allowing liftgates and auxiliary systems to operate without starting the engine.
Deecell qualifies as Idle Reduction Technology under federal guidelines. Because it is permanently installed and designed to reduce or eliminate engine idling, fleets may apply applicable federal weight exemptions where permitted.
As a zero emissions power solution, Deecell helps fleets reduce non-drivetime idle fuel burn, meet idle reduction requirements, support sustainability and ESG goals, and prepare for increasingly strict emissions regulations without sacrificing reliability.
Deecell is well suited for fleets that want to eliminate idling, reduce operating costs, improve uptime, and extend asset life. Reliable engine-off power also improves the driver experience and supports long term driver retention.
