Autel Energy Introduces MaxiCharger SmartOutlet for Cable-Free EV Charging
Autel Energy North America introduced the MaxiCharger SmartOutlet, a new approach to commercial EV charging that eliminates permanently attached charging cables. Instead, drivers bring their own portable EV charging equipment, reducing exposure to cable theft, vandalism, and replacement costs.
The MaxiCharger SmartOutlet offers NEMA 14-50 and 6-20 outlet configurations and delivers up to 9.6 kW of charging power. Its cableless design provides an alternative for commercial properties where permanently tethered charging cables may be unnecessary or create additional maintenance concerns.
Autel’s Leader & Follower architecture supports up to 10 outlets per group, reducing hardware costs by up to 50% and cellular service fees by up to 70%. Integrated load balancing distributes available electrical capacity across multiple outlets, helping operators avoid or defer costly electrical infrastructure upgrades.
The system supports OCPP 1.6J and OCPP 2.0.1, allowing integration with third-party EV charging management platforms without proprietary software requirements. Connectivity options include 4G eSIM, Wi-Fi, and Wi-SUN.
Additional features include a 1.4-inch LCD, RFID authentication, and QR code payments. Displaying QR codes directly on the screen eliminates the need for payment stickers. The system also includes removal detection and supports wall or pedestal installation.
Autel designed the MaxiCharger SmartOutlet for straightforward deployment, with commissioning in approximately five minutes and a five-year hardware warranty.

Autel Energy Expands Its EV Charging Business Across North America
Autel Energy North America is expanding its presence in the North American EV charging market with a portfolio of residential, commercial, fleet, and public charging solutions. Its product lineup includes Level 2 AC chargers, DC fast chargers, high-power charging systems, energy storage, and intelligent charging management software.
Charging infrastructure must deliver more than additional ports. Reliability, interoperability, accessible payments, intelligent energy management, and ongoing technical support are essential for drivers, businesses, property owners, and fleet operators.
The company also develops solutions connecting EV charging with broader energy management capabilities, including battery storage and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology. These systems can help commercial properties and fleet operators manage electricity demand and prepare for increasingly distributed energy systems.
On September 22, 2026, Autel opened its Experience Center in Fremont, California. The facility showcases its AC and DC charging technologies and provides opportunities for product demonstrations, interoperability testing, technical training, and partner collaboration. The opening followed its September 23–24 Partner Summit.
As North America accelerates its transition to electric transportation, Autel is positioning its products and services across home charging, multifamily properties, commercial destinations, public charging networks, and electric fleets.
