VinFast Reveals 5 New U.S. Dealerships and CES 2024 Presence

Five automotive dealerships in four U.S. states will begin selling the VinFast VF 8 all-electric SUV, with plans to add the VF 6, VF 7, and VF 9 models when they launch in the US market. The VinFast dealerships are Hiley VinFast of Fort Worth (Fort Worth, Texas), VinFast Wichita (Wichita, Kansas), Leith VinFast (Raleigh, North Carolina), Smith Haven VinFast (St. James, New York), and Principle VinFast Grapevine (Grapevine, Texas.)

In California, VinFast currently operates 13 retail stores and service centers. The company expects to expand its dealer network to 125 points of sale across the US in 2024 and beyond. The company adopted a hybrid sales model that includes direct and dealer-based sales and service, offering customers a seamless buying and repair experience.

VinFast, the First Vietnamese Car Brand To Expand Into Global Markets

VinFast Auto Ltd. is a Vietnam-based multinational automotive company founded by Vingroup.It is the first Vietnamese car brand to expand into global markets. The company was established in 2017. It is the first company in Vietnam to expand into producing electric vehicles (EVs) and electric scooters. A former producer of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, it now produces only electric cars. SUVs are the only vehicle type currently offered. It began delivering electric cars in California in March 2023. It sold about 13,000 vehicles globally in the second and third quarters of 2023.

VinFast Offers Four Attractive All-Electric Models Globally

Only the VF 8 is currently available in the U.S.; however, the remaining models should be available soon.

  • VF 6: B-segment (sub-compact) SUV, a sporty five-passenger EV offering sophisticated styling and a 237-248 mile WLTP est. range.
  • VF 7: C-segment (compact) SUV, a modern five-passenger vehicle offering vegan leather seats and generous legroom.
  • VF 8: D-segment (mid-size), a five-passenger, 2-row all-electric SUV featuring an impressive 264 mi est. EPA range and a stunning Pininfarina design. The company includes a 10-year/125,000-mile warranty and a 10-year unlimited mileage warranty for the battery for non-commercial use.
  • VF 9:  E-segment (full-size), a seven-passenger SUV optimized with aerodynamics for performance efficiency, offering an all-wheel-drive powertrain and two motors totaling 402 horsepower.

VinFast To Make Amazing Announcements at CES 2024

VinFast announced a teaser image of an electric truck to be shown at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on January 9-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The new electric pickup truck is causing great excitement, as it would be the first truck offered by the company. An entry-level electric vehicle concept, the subcompact VF 3, is also expected to be shown. The company will display electric bicycles at the show as well.

VinFast May Open Its First Battery Manufacturing Facility in Tamil Nadu India

VinFast may be set to open its first battery manufacturing facility in the southern state of Tamil Nadu in India. In September 2023, VinFast began hiring for sales, legal, and back office jobs in India, seeking workers who “dare to think, dare to do, and dare to face difficulties.” In October 2023, VinFast said it would build EV assembly factories in India and Indonesia. Each factory would have a capacity of up to 50,000 cars per year and capital expenditure of up to $200 million at the outset, commencing production in 2026.
