Renewable Properties Building 4MW Fleet Charging Depot in SF Bay Area
This week, Renewable Properties announced a major step forward in its clean transportation efforts, closing on a land purchase and securing a $20 million credit facility to develop a 4MW electric truck charging hub in Richmond, California.
The new site, called the Goodrick Avenue EV Depot, will begin construction in Q2 2026 and is slated for completion by October 2027. Once operational, it will be one of Renewable Properties’ first purpose-built hubs dedicated to medium-duty electric truck fleets.

Building Bay Area Fleet Charging Capacity
The 4MW depot will feature 60 charging stalls, including 16 Level 3 DC Fast Chargers delivering between 50kW and 350kW and 48 Level 2 AC Chargers for slower, overnight charging.
The project has also received a $3 million grant from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (Air District), reflecting strong public sector support for fleet electrification.
Located in Richmond’s industrial corridor near the intersection of Interstates 80 and 580, the depot sits at a prime crossroads for warehousing, logistics, and municipal fleets. Public agencies, school districts, and local governments across the Bay Area are expected to benefit from the site’s charging capacity.
Financing and Long-Term Vision
Funding for the project comes from a prominent family office investment firm, which provided the $20 million credit facility. Renewable Properties expects to expand the depot’s capacity further in 2026 with additional grid commitments from PG&E.
Aaron Halimi, founder and president of Renewable Properties, emphasized the broader impact.
“This launch will not only expand Bay Area EV fleet infrastructure, it will help lead a shift toward reducing diesel and gas emissions in high traffic corridors and support the health of disadvantaged communities,” said Halimi.
Dr. Philip Fine, executive officer of the Air District, highlighted the regional significance.
“This new charging hub is the kind of infrastructure investment we need to help fleets meet zero-emission requirements while delivering cleaner air to communities that have faced the brunt of transportation pollution. It’s a meaningful step toward a healthier future for all Bay Area residents,” said Fine.
A New Model for Fleet Charging
Renewable Properties entered the EV fleet charging market in 2023, offering charging-as-a-service agreements similar to power purchase agreements (PPAs) used in solar projects. The company owns, builds, and operates gated depots with reserved capacity, security, and storage, enabling businesses and municipalities to reserve space without upfront infrastructure investment.
Renewable Properties is a clean energy developer and investor focused on advancing small-scale utility and community solar, energy storage, and electric vehicle infrastructure projects across the U.S. Founded with the mission of making clean energy more accessible, the company finances, builds, owns, and operates projects that deliver long-term value to communities, businesses, and public agencies.
