Autel Energy Expands Turnkey Design Services, Completes First U.S. EV Charging & Battery Storage Project
Autel Energy, a global leader in EV charging and smart energy solutions, announced on September 9, 2025, the completion of its first integrated EV charging and battery energy storage system project in the United States. The company is also exhibiting its new V2X solutions this week at the RE+ event in Las Vegas, at Booth F16035.
Officially permitted and approved by Duke Energy, the EV + BESS installation represents a significant milestone in Autel Energy North America’s portfolio and demonstrates its ability to deliver turnkey solutions that merge high-power charging with advanced storage technology.
The EV + BESS project, located at Autel’s manufacturing facility in Greensboro, North Carolina, integrates a 250 kWh battery cabinet with a 125 kW power conversion system. It supports one Autel MaxiCharger DC Fast and two DC Compact units, providing reliable charging while reducing peak demand costs and improving site resiliency.
Michelle Luo, Chief Revenue Officer, Autel Energy North America, said: “I’m incredibly proud of our team for hitting yet another milestone this year. These first utility-approved EV + BESS projects prove what’s possible when great engineering meets real-world customer needs. Starting today, our integrated EV + BESS solutions are available for quoting, with installation timelines that can deliver energized sites before the end of the year.”
This achievement sets the stage for several additional EV and BESS (battery energy storage system) projects that Autel expects to complete before the end of 2025. The company’s standardized, utility-compliant designs can scale from 250 kWh to multi-megawatt deployments, offering flexible solutions for fleets, commercial sites, municipalities, utilities, and NEVI-funded projects.
Its UL 9540A certified systems enable peak shaving, load shifting, and demand charge management while supporting grid stability. With modular architecture, customers can expand capacity with additional chargers, storage, or renewable integration.
Autel’s integrated EV and BESS solutions are now available for quoting, with installations possible before year-end 2025, subject to site conditions and permitting.

Why Full Fleet Electrification for Power Utilities Makes Sense
As commercial and municipal fleets accelerate electrification, access to reliable charging infrastructure paired with energy storage is critical to managing operating costs and ensuring uptime.
Power utilities sit at the heart of the clean energy transition. As the stewards of the grid and providers of the electricity that will fuel tomorrow’s economy, utilities are under pressure to lead by example. One of the most impactful ways to do that is through full fleet electrification, transitioning service vehicles, light-duty trucks, and specialty equipment to electric.
Utilities today face mounting pressure to modernize operations, reduce carbon emissions, and prepare for a future dominated by clean energy. Autel Energy can help.
Successfully managing this shift requires more than just swapping gas tanks for batteries, it demands a robust, scalable charging solution that ensures reliability, cost-efficiency, and future-proof performance. That’s where Autel Energy stands apart.
Why Electric Trucks Make Great Work Trucks
When most people think of work trucks, they picture power, durability, and the ability to get the job done no matter the conditions. Electric trucks are proving they deliver all that, and more. Beyond being clean and efficient, EV trucks come with features that make them ideal partners on the job site, especially when it comes to powering tools and equipment.
One of the most revolutionary advantages of electric trucks is their ability to serve as mobile power stations. Many EV trucks come with multiple onboard outlets, sometimes delivering 120V or even 240V power, so crews can plug in power tools, welders, compressors, or lights directly into the truck. No more hauling around noisy generators or dealing with extra fuel cans.

Proven Reliability for Mission-Critical Operations
Utilities can’t afford downtime. Field crews depend on their vehicles to restore power, maintain infrastructure, and respond to emergencies quickly. Autel Energy’s chargers are engineered with industry-leading uptime and intelligent diagnostics, ensuring fleets remain on the move. The company’s track record of delivering durable, high-performance charging hardware makes it a trusted partner for mission-critical industries like utilities.
Smart Energy Management
Electric fleets introduce new challenges around energy demand, peak loads, and grid impact. Autel’s advanced energy management software gives utilities the ability to monitor, schedule, and optimize charging across their fleet. With features like load balancing, demand response integration, and predictive analytics, utilities can minimize operating costs while maintaining full fleet readiness.
Scalable Solutions for Growing Fleets
Electrification doesn’t happen all at once, fleets expand over time. Autel offers modular charging solutions that can grow alongside a utility’s needs. Whether starting with a handful of vehicles or deploying infrastructure for hundreds, Autel’s portfolio ensures a seamless path from pilot projects to full-scale electrification.

Seamless Integration With Utility Goals
Utilities have unique requirements when it comes to safety, compliance, and grid integration.
Autel’s solutions are designed with interoperability in mind, supporting open standards like OCPP for charger management and aligning with utility-led programs for grid resilience and distributed energy resources. This makes it easier for utilities to electrify their fleets while also enhancing the overall stability of the grid they manage.
Don’t Miss Autel Energy’s New V2X Portfolio at RE+, September 8–11, 2025, Caesars Forum, Booth F16035
At the opening of RE+ 2025, Autel Energy North America unveiled its new V2X portfolio to the North American market, marking a major step forward in redefining the energy ecosystem. The new solutions support V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) for peak and valley arbitrage as well as demand charge optimization. The solutions also deliver 97% end-to-end efficiency while charging up to 12 vehicles at once, and offer scalable capacity with up to 3MW power cabinet expansion in a compact footprint. The system also provides a maximum output current of 1500A for MCS (Megawatt Charging System) dispensers.
Autel Energy invites attendees to visit the Autel DC Café at RE+ to discuss projects, ask questions, and explore how these innovations can unlock new levels of revenue, resilience, and efficiency.
