Driving electric vehicle adoption

Skyhook Solar Exhibiting at NABSA 2026 Micromobility Conference, October 6-8, Cincinnati

The 2026 NABSA Annual Conference will bring shared micromobility leaders from around the world to Cincinnati, Ohio, October 6-8. Skyhook Solar will be exhibiting at the event.

“Skyhook is a bronze sponsor this year, will have a booth and also will be exhibiting a new product. It will also be the first time Skyhook is bringing a full solar station to NABSA, so that’s exciting,” said Tony Reeves, Manager of Accounts and Product at Skyhook.

Skyhook Solar is tackling one of the biggest challenges facing EV adoption: access to charging infrastructure.

The Colorado-based company develops transportable Solar Stations that combine solar generation, battery storage, smart software and charging capabilities. Designed to deploy fully assembled in about an hour, the systems can provide power without waiting for traditional grid connections, trenching or lengthy infrastructure projects.

Its D6 Solar Station is designed specifically for EV charging, providing Level 2 charging with up to 28 kWh of LiFePO4 battery storage and 3,000 watts of bifacial solar generation. The compact system can be deployed in parking lots, workplaces, public facilities and other locations where grid-connected charging may be difficult or delayed.

Skyhook also supports shared micromobility, powering e-bike fleets with renewable energy while providing remote monitoring and fleet management data.

Skyhook Solar’s D4 Solar Station is designed to expand bikeshare while providing resilient, renewable power. The system combines solar PV, internal battery storage, data connectivity, and AC and DC power in a compact 72-by-42-inch footprint. With an 88-square-foot canopy, LED lighting, curbside shade and protection, and support for EVs, micromobility and communications, the D4 can provide both energy and infrastructure where traditional grid connections may be difficult. Skyhook has deployed the system to power WE-cycle bikeshare in Basalt, Colorado.

As EV charging demand grows, solutions that can be deployed quickly and operate independently from the grid could help communities and businesses expand charging without waiting years for conventional infrastructure.

The 2026 NABSA Annual Conference

Hosted by the North American Bikeshare & Scootershare Association (NABSA), the three-day event will connect operators, cities, equipment manufacturers, technology providers, planners, advocates and researchers focused on the future of shared transportation.

Themed “Together We Ride,” the conference will explore funding, partnerships, operations, planning, equity, engagement and emerging technologies. Attendees will also experience Cincinnati’s shared micromobility system firsthand through mobile workshops featuring Red Bike, the city’s bikeshare program.

Shared micromobility continues to expand across North America. NABSA reports that the sector recorded at least 237 million trips across 403 cities in 2025, a 5% increase from the previous year and the third consecutive annual ridership record.

The conference will also feature keynote speaker Iresha Picot, founder of Black Girl Joy Bike Ride, who will discuss cycling, community, wellness and expanding access to shared micromobility.

As cities look for transportation options that can complement public transit, reduce car dependence and provide more mobility choices, shared bikes and scooters are becoming an increasingly important part of the transportation ecosystem.
