Driving electric vehicle adoption

Porsche and Frauscher Unveil Electric Sports Boat and Macan Concept at boot Düsseldorf 2026

The German-Austrian partnership between Porsche and Frauscher Boats continues to advance electric performance across land and water. At boot Düsseldorf 2026, the two brands presented the Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre, a newly developed electric sports boat engineered entirely around the fully electric Porsche Macan powertrain. The world premiere was accompanied by the Macan Turbo Concept Lago, an extensively customized concept vehicle that visually and conceptually mirrors the boat. Porsche also celebrated the German premiere of the new Cayenne Electric at the show.

As with the Taycan, Macan, and Cayenne Electric, Porsche designs its battery-electric vehicles from the ground up as electric sports cars, fully exploiting the freedoms offered by electric architecture. Frauscher has adopted the same philosophy on the water. The 790 Spectre was developed specifically for Porsche’s high-performance electric drive system and built around the Macan Turbo’s high-voltage battery, rear-axle motor, and power electronics.

The result is a lightweight, agile, and efficient sports boat that sets new benchmarks in electric boating. Frauscher developed an all-new hull that is lighter, shorter, and narrower than previous models, while retaining the proven 100 kWh battery and 400 kW permanent-magnet synchronous motor. Measuring 7.97 meters in length, the 790 Spectre blends Porsche engineering with distinctive sports-car design DNA throughout.

To underscore the close relationship between car and boat, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur created the Macan Turbo Concept Lago, featuring coordinated exterior and interior design elements. Both vehicles are finished in exclusive Darkteal Metallic from Porsche’s Paint to Sample program, which is also available to 790 Spectre customers as an 11-layer finish. Additional shared details include customized sideblades, materials, and trim treatments that visually connect road and water.

Inside the boat, Porsche influences are evident throughout. The start button is positioned to the left of the steering wheel, which is trimmed in Porsche leatherette and paired with sports seats bearing the Porsche Crest. Five round instruments echo classic Porsche graphics, while seat stitching and interior layouts mirror Porsche design language. High-quality materials include real wood, marine-grade fabrics, and a compass-inspired centerpiece.

The design exchange flows both ways. The Macan Turbo Concept Lago incorporates yacht-inspired features from Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program, including real wood trim in the luggage compartments, door panels, and floor mats, marine-grade seat fabrics, Crayon leather accents, and Night Green contrast stitching. Even the vehicle keys are identically customized for both car and boat.

While the Macan Turbo Concept Lago remains a design study, the Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre is now available to order. Customers can also order and personalize the new Cayenne Electric, Porsche’s second fully electric SUV, which makes its German debut in Düsseldorf. In Turbo specification, it delivers up to 850 kW (1,156 PS) and can tow up to 3.5 tonnes, making it a powerful and fitting companion for electric boating adventures.

“The Macan Turbo Concept Lago and the 790 Spectre elevate our collaboration with Frauscher to a new level,” said Jörg Kerner, Vice President Product Line Macan. “Together, we are demonstrating how electric performance, design, and personalization can merge across brands to create a unified experience.”
