Einride’s Autonomous Electric Trucks Deployed in Ohio
On May 18, 2026, Einride and EASE Logistics announced the launch of a proof-of-concept program deploying SAE Level 4 autonomous trucks between EASE Logistics facilities in Marysville, Ohio. The initiative is part of the Ohio Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) Truck Automation Corridor Project, led through DriveOhio in collaboration with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), and is intended to evaluate how autonomous freight technology impacts operational efficiency, safety, and logistics performance.
The pilot will utilize two of Einride’s Level 4 autonomous electric trucks, which are already operating in commercial freight applications in the United States. Beginning this summer, the vehicles will move goods between EASE warehouse locations using a combination of private property and local public roads. The project will collect operational data related to transportation, warehousing, and distribution workflows.

Unlike conventional autonomous trucks, Einride’s vehicles are purpose-built, cab-less electric freight trucks that operate without an onboard driver. The trucks are capable of independently navigating routes, responding to traffic conditions, and managing unexpected events. Operations are overseen by remote operators who monitor vehicle performance and can intervene when necessary to ensure safe and efficient operation.
The deployment marks EASE Logistics’ third autonomous trucking project with DriveOhio, underscoring the company’s position as one of the few logistics providers actively evaluating multiple autonomous freight technologies in real-world commercial environments. The collaboration also expands Einride’s growing footprint in autonomous freight transportation across the United States.
Safety remains a core focus for both organizations, influencing everything from vehicle technology and system design to daily operating procedures and oversight protocols.
Founded in 2016, Einride develops and operates digital, electric, and autonomous freight solutions designed to modernize transportation while reducing costs and emissions. The company’s platform combines AI-driven planning and optimization software, autonomous vehicle technology, electric truck fleets, and charging infrastructure. Einride currently serves customers throughout North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
EASE Logistics, founded in 2014 and headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, has grown into one of the nation’s leading privately held logistics companies. The company has earned recognition on the Inc. 5000 list eight times and was ranked the top transportation company on Fortune’s 2023 list of America’s Most Innovative Companies. EASE operates through two divisions: EASE Logistics, a third-party logistics provider, and EASE Expedited, which manages transportation assets and warehousing operations.
