Driving electric vehicle adoption

LiveWire Announces Dedicated S2 Patrol Electric Motorcycles for Law Enforcement

On April 16, 2025, LiveWire, the electric motorcycle company backed by Harley-Davidson, announced the launch of new Patrol versions of its S2 Del Mar and Alpinista models, specially designed for law enforcement, security, and fleet use. Built in York, Pennsylvania, these motorcycles combine LiveWire’s electric innovation with Harley-Davidson’s decades of experience supporting police and fleet vehicles.

With this launch, LiveWire has already secured its first customer for the 2025 Patrol lineup. The police department of St. Cloud, Florida has received dedicated S2 Patrol Del Mar models, making it the first agency to integrate these purpose-built electric motorcycles into active duty. This early adoption signals growing interest among law enforcement agencies looking for clean, efficient alternatives to traditional patrol vehicles.

The standard S2 models are priced from $15,999 to $16,249 and come equipped with advanced safety features, including cornering-enhanced ABS, drag-torque slip control, and traction control. Each motorcycle is backed by a five-year unlimited mileage warranty on the high-voltage battery and a two-year unlimited mileage warranty on the vehicle itself, which can be extended to five years.

The Patrol-specific models build on the standard platform with additional features tailored to law enforcement needs. These enhancements include protective components, integrated storage, emergency lighting, sirens, and specialized controls. Pricing increases based on these added capabilities and the specific requirements of each agency.

LiveWire’s S2 Patrol motorcycles are designed to perform exceptionally well in real-world policing scenarios. With twist-and-go operation, no clutch or shifting, and a low heat signature, the bikes are simple to operate and comfortable for long shifts. They produce minimal vibration and are highly maneuverable at low speeds, reducing rider fatigue and improving concentration. Their quiet, zero-emission design also makes them ideal for use in dense urban areas or indoor environments such as stadiums and convention centers, where gas-powered vehicles fall short.

These new models are available now, and LiveWire is inviting departments, municipalities, and security teams to schedule demos or request more information through its website. With increasing demand for sustainable solutions in public service, LiveWire’s expansion into the law enforcement and fleet sector demonstrates how electric motorcycles can meet the unique needs of patrol operations while supporting broader environmental goals.
