Flash Launches Denver’s Largest Public EV Charging Hub at Ball Arena

Ball Arena, home to the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, and Colorado Mammoth, has plugged in a major milestone for Colorado’s clean transportation future. In partnership with Flash, the Arena has opened Denver’s largest public EV charging hub, featuring 60 new charging ports in the Camry South Lot. Flash announced the news on July 16, 2025.

“This EV charging hub and our partnership with Flash exemplify our commitment to sustainability, enhancing the fan experience, and supporting our community,” said Matt Bell, Senior Vice President of Venue Operations at Ball Arena. “It represents the kinds of community amenities and infrastructure we envision for the area with our redevelopment plan and the sustainable mobility alternatives we need.”

The hub arrives as Colorado’s EV adoption surges, last year the state surpassed 5,200 charging stations. This announcement makes this installation a timely boost to local infrastructure. Conveniently located at Speer Boulevard and Auraria Parkway, with easy access to I-25 and light rail, the site is designed to serve both game-day crowds and Denver’s growing EV community.

Matt McCaffree, Vice President and General Manager at Flash, added: “Denver is embracing the future of transportation, and Ball Arena is setting the standard for how entertainment venues can support that transition. Our partnership delivers a secure, reliable, and seamless charging experience that fans and community members will expect from one of Denver’s premier destinations.”

The 60 Level 2 charging ports are open now, available during the Arena’s 250 annual events and to the public year-round. Over time, Ball Arena plans to expand its role in sustainable mobility with transit connections, shuttle service, and improved pedestrian access as part of its larger redevelopment strategy.

Flash is a pioneering mobility technology company that delivers seamless parking and EV charging experiences through a connected digital ecosystem. Its cloud-based operating system integrates reservable parking, charging, valet, and surface lot access into the apps drivers use every day, eliminating wasted time, emissions, and stress. By partnering with venues, operators, and brands, Flash enables secure, reliable, and easy-to-use solutions that meet the growing demand for frictionless mobility in cities across North America.

Ball Arena, located in downtown Denver at the intersection of Speer Boulevard and Auraria Parkway, is one of the region’s premier sports and entertainment venues. Owned and operated by Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, the arena hosts more than 250 events annually. Beyond its role as a world-class venue, Ball Arena is actively pursuing sustainability and redevelopment initiatives designed to enhance community mobility, expand open space, and create a vibrant, connected downtown experience.

Ball Arena and Flash are proving how sports, entertainment, and sustainability can team up, making Denver not just a hub for world-class events, but for the clean, connected mobility of the future.

San Diego Padres Partner With XLR8 America, Installing 20 EV Chargers to Parkade Parking Facility

Ball arena isn’t the only sports venue to have EV charging installed recently. In April 2025, EVinfo.net reported that through a partnership with locally based XLR8 America, the Padres are installing 20 new EV chargers at the Padres Parkade, the ten-story, 1,130-space parking structure on 10th Avenue and J Street. Just steps from the iconic ballpark, the Parkade is one of the team’s official parking facilities and serves thousands of fans and event-goers each year. This new installation will make attending games and events even more convenient while supporting San Diego’s push toward clean, sustainable transportation. XLR8 America’s “Owned and Operated” Charging as a Service (CaaS) program requires no upfront capital investment from the Padres, while also providing the team with a portion of the revenue generated from charging fees. This program is designed to be a win-win for both businesses and EV drivers by offering an innovative revenue stream for parking facilities while enhancing the electric vehicle experience.

Frank O’Connor, CEO of XLR8 America said, “We’re thrilled to partner with the San Diego Padres to enhance their corporate sustainability efforts and fan experience and further introduce XLR8 America to the San Diego business community.”
