Driving electric vehicle adoption

Solar Power Accelerator (SPA) Rebrands to RPX to Accelerate the Electrification of Europe’s Heavy Duty Transport

Stockholm-based Solar Power Accelerator has officially rebranded as Renewable Power Accelerator (RPX), marking a strategic shift from commercial rooftop solar into renewable energy solutions for electric heavy-duty trucks across Europe. RPX announced the news on April 10, 2026. EVinfo.net reported on the company in January 2026.

Founded in 2023, the company originally helped property owners in Sweden monetize surplus solar output through Power Purchase Agreements. Declining demand in that segment prompted a pivot toward e-mobility in late 2024. The rebrand, formally approved at an extraordinary general meeting on April 10, formalizes that transition.

The timing reflects real market pressure. Heavy transport accounts for more than 25% of EU carbon emissions, and the electric heavy-duty truck market is projected to grow at roughly 10% annually through 2035. Total cost of ownership is expected to favor electric trucks over diesel by 2027, and regulatory requirements are tightening across the continent.

“We are part of a broader paradigm shift toward renewable logistics,” added William Granelli, Co-founder and Vice President. “Recent macroeconomic and geopolitical developments have further highlighted the risks of fossil fuel dependency and the urgency of transitioning to resilient, redundant, and locally sourced renewable energy systems.”

Being a serial entrepreneur in the sector, William Granelli has received instrumental support from seasoned industry experts when shaping this new customer-focused offering.

RPX’s core offering powers charging infrastructure for electric freight trucks along key transport corridors, logistics depots, and freight terminals. Charging stations run on 100% renewable energy through onsite microgrids, battery storage, and load balancing, supplemented by locally contracted PPAs with European power distributors.

RPX Adds Customized AI and BaaS Offerings

The company is also expanding into two adjacent areas. Its AI-powered fleet management software handles navigation planning, energy pricing, driver assistance, and renewable energy certification across driver, operator, and logistics provider interfaces. A Battery-as-a-Service model, developed in collaboration with truck manufacturers, structures battery leasing to bring electric truck ownership costs in line with diesel.

“Adding a client centric software defined vehicle and infrastructure offering strengthens our leadership position as it boosts our capacity to scale the renewable energy transition for eHDT deployment in Europe,” said Pär-Olof Johannesson, Co-founder, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

RPX currently has projects in development across the Nordic region, the UK, Spain, and Poland, and is actively raising capital through equity participation and convertible bond notes. More information is available at www.rpx.se.
