Wallbox Partners With Freenow by Lyft to Support Taxi Electrification Across Europe
Wallbox, a global provider of electric vehicle charging and energy management solutions, has announced a new partnership with Freenow by Lyft, one of Europe’s leading multi-mobility platforms, aimed at accelerating the electrification of taxi operations across major European markets. The collaboration will provide Freenow drivers and fleet operators with exclusive access to Wallbox charging solutions for both residential and commercial use. Wallbox announced the news on May 13, 2026.
The program is now available in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Spain. Through the partnership, battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) taxi drivers using the Freenow platform will gain access to charging products tailored to their operational needs. Individual drivers will be offered the Wallbox Pulsar Max home charger, while fleet operators and shared charging environments can utilize the Pulsar Pro and eM4 solutions.
Ignasi Alastuey, Chief Business Officer at Wallbox, said: “The shift to electric mobility in the taxi sector will depend on making charging simple, accessible and suited to the everyday needs of drivers and fleet operators. At Wallbox, we are focused on helping remove barriers to adoption with charging solutions that are easy to use and designed to support professional mobility. Through this partnership with Freenow, we are making that transition more accessible for drivers across Europe.”

Felix Brand, Chief Strategy Officer at Freenow by Lyft, added: “At Freenow, we are committed to supporting drivers and fleet partners in their transition to electric mobility. Working with Wallbox allows us to offer access to charging solutions that are practical, reliable and adapted to the needs of our driver community, helping make electrification a more viable option across our network.”
As electrification continues to expand across Europe’s taxi and ride-hailing sectors, reliable and scalable charging infrastructure is becoming increasingly essential. Freenow reports that more than 60% of vehicles operating on its platform across over 180 European cities are already fully or partially electrified, underscoring the rapid transition toward cleaner transportation.
By partnering with Freenow, Wallbox aims to make EV charging more accessible and manageable for professional drivers and fleet businesses that rely on their vehicles throughout the day. In addition to exclusive discounts on selected charging products, Freenow drivers and fleet operators will also gain access to Wallbox’s network of certified installation partners, helping streamline the process from purchase to installation.
The agreement further strengthens Wallbox’s role in supporting professional fleet electrification across Europe, with solutions ranging from home charging setups to larger-scale depot and shared charging systems.
Founded in Barcelona in 2015, Wallbox develops EV charging and energy management technologies designed to help users better manage energy consumption, reduce costs, and support sustainable transportation. The company currently operates in more than 100 countries with offices across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Freenow by Lyft operates across nine European markets and more than 180 cities, offering users access to taxis, private hire vehicles, carsharing, e-bikes, scooters, public transportation, and other mobility services through a single app. Headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, the company is led by CEO Thomas Zimmermann.
