Go for a Ride in the Exciting New Slate EV Truck at the Slate Roadshow
Slate Auto is taking its Blank Slate electric pickup back on the road as the company begins accepting preorders and expands its nationwide tour.
The upcoming events will give the public an opportunity to see a Slate display vehicle in person and, at select events, take a ride in the electric truck. Walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis, although Slate will reserve ride opportunities for existing reservation and preorder holders.
Ride-along schedules and RSVP information will be released closer to each event. Preorder and reservation holders will receive access to the information first.
The first stop is Portland, Oregon, from August 26 through August 30, 2026. The Slate display model will be available at Washington Square from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Visitors can view the vehicle and request a ride-along.
The tour continues in Gardena, California, from September 3 through September 7, 2026. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exact location to be announced closer to the event.
Slate will then visit San Diego, California, from September 9 through September 13, 2026. Event hours and the location will be announced later.
The tour moves to Scottsdale, Arizona, from September 16 through September 20, 2026. Visitors can see the Slate at Kierland Commons from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Slate Brings Affordable, Customizable Electric Truck to Market
Slate is preparing to bring a new approach to the electric truck market with the Blank Slate, a compact electric pickup starting at $24,950. The company describes it as the most affordable new truck in America, with 205 miles of projected range and a focus on keeping the vehicle simple and customizable. Preorders are now open, with a $300 nonrefundable deposit locking in a delivery window. Slate currently lists delivery windows as July through September 2027, while first deliveries are planned to begin in late 2026.
The Blank Slate is designed to be more than a conventional two-seat pickup. Owners can configure it as a pickup, five-seat SUV, or Fastback, with more than 200 accessories available for personalization. Slate also designed the vehicle around DIY maintenance, with accessible parts, free manuals, and Slate U tutorials. Charging can be done from a standard 120-volt household outlet, a 240-volt dryer outlet, or Tesla Superchargers using the included charging equipment. With 205 miles of projected range, multiple body configurations, and extensive customization options, Slate is targeting buyers who want an affordable EV without the traditional complexity of multiple trim levels and expensive packages.
