Driving electric vehicle adoption

Upcoming Genesis GV90 EV Will Be the Brand’s Largest, Most Luxurious SUV

The GV90 is set to become Genesis’ largest and most luxurious SUV to date. With its official debut approaching, the production version of the flagship electric SUV has now been spotted in public for the first time, offering an early look at what Genesis calls its most advanced and premium vehicle yet.

Genesis already stands out with a distinctive design language defined by its signature Crest Grille, Two-Line Quad Lamps, and clean, flowing surfaces. With the GV90, the brand is elevating that identity even further. Described by Genesis as an “ultra-luxe, state-of-the-art SUV,” the GV90 will serve as the company’s new flagship and its first full-size, all-electric SUV.

The GV90 was first previewed in March when Genesis unveiled the Neolun concept at the New York Auto Show. Since then, camouflaged prototypes have been spotted multiple times in public, revealing hints of high-end features such as coach-style doors and adaptive air suspension. A newly surfaced video shows the production version in motion, still wrapped in camouflage but close enough to confirm that the overall design remains faithful to the concept.

Up front, the headlights and grille appear more aligned with current Genesis production models, though the GV90 otherwise closely mirrors the Neolun concept. From the side and rear, the production SUV looks nearly identical, reinforcing its concept-to-production continuity.

Genesis has not yet confirmed a launch date, but the GV90 is expected to debut in the USA early next year, with sales beginning in mid-2026. Estimated driving range is projected between 300 and more than 400 miles, though no EPA rating has been released. Real-world range will vary based on speed, traffic, terrain, and climate control use.

Charging performance has also not been finalized. The GV90 will be compatible with a wide range of DC fast chargers, from lower-power ChargePoint stations to high-power Electrify America and EVgo sites offering up to 350 kW, depending on vehicle capability. The GV90 is rumored to debut Hyundai’s next-generation eM platform, promising up to a 50 percent range improvement, alongside the brand’s most advanced connectivity and safety technologies.

Pricing has not been announced, but the GV90 is expected to start around $100,000, with higher trims pushing well beyond that. Genesis also plans to introduce its first hybrid GV80 next year, followed by an extended-range electric GV70 and a future off-road SUV slated for later in the decade.
