L-Charge Raises $10 Million to Scale Off-Grid EV Charging Solutions in US

On January 19, 2026, Off-grid EV charging solutions provider L-Charge announced it has secured US$10 million in new funding to accelerate its growth in the United States.

The capital will support new deployments and the nationwide scaling of L-Charge’s off-grid charging solutions. It will also fuel rapid expansion across rideshare and last-mile delivery fleet installations, while enabling the company to grow its service and sales teams to keep pace with rising project demand.

The funding round was led by fund management firm Ultra Capital, with additional participation from L-Charge founder Dmitry Lashin.

L-Charge said many customers continue to face significant barriers when deploying conventional charging infrastructure, including permitting delays and grid capacity backlogs that increase costs and slow EV rollouts. The company addresses these challenges through fast-to-deploy, modular, off-grid charging systems that allow fleets to electrify within weeks rather than months or years.

Its charging-as-a-service and power-as-a-service offerings provide commercial customers with a flexible, zero-capital-expenditure alternative to traditional grid-dependent infrastructure. L-Charge serves a broad range of use cases, including logistics operations, rideshare platforms, municipal fleets, and commercial depots constrained by limited power availability or site restrictions.

“This funding marks a significant milestone for L-Charge,” said Stephen Kelley, CEO of L-Charge. “Demand for our solutions continues to grow as fleet operators look for reliable ways to deploy EVs despite grid limitations and rising costs. This investment allows us to scale faster, support more customers, and keep building the team needed to sustain our next phase of growth.”

“L-Charge is solving one of the most critical bottlenecks in fleet electrification today – access to power,” said Kristian Hanelt, Partner at Ultra Capital. “Their ability to deploy charging infrastructure independent of grid timelines makes them uniquely positioned to support the rapid electrification of commercial fleets. We’re proud to lead this round and continue supporting L-Charge as they scale nationally.”

L-Charge Appoints Serial Energy Entrepreneur Stephen Kelley as CEO

In October 2025, L-Charge appointed Stephen Kelley as Chief Executive Officer. The appointment comes as fleet electrification demand surges nationwide, intensifying the need for scalable off-grid charging alternatives. Emerging models such as Charging-as-a-Service and Power-as-a-Service (PaaS) are gaining momentum as fleets and property owners look to avoid grid bottlenecks and speed the transition to electric transportation.

Over the past year, L-Charge has delivered more than 3 million kWh of energy to fleet customers, powering over 9 million electric miles. These deployments have helped operators electrify more quickly by overcoming utility delays while maintaining predictable charging costs. Recent projects include supporting more than 400 daily charging sessions for Tower Mobility’s Los Angeles rideshare fleet. Kelley’s appointment signals L-Charge’s increased focus on scaling partnerships, accelerating deployments, and expanding its CaaS and PaaS offerings.

Kelley brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across clean energy and mobility, including six successful company exits. Most recently, he served as Chief Revenue Officer at InCharge Energy, where he grew revenues nearly tenfold and secured major fleet and OEM partnerships. He also co-founded Green Charge Networks, later acquired by Engie, and has held senior roles spanning solar, energy storage, and e-mobility. His career has consistently centered on translating complex energy challenges into measurable customer value. Under his leadership, L-Charge aims to position its CaaS and PaaS platforms as preferred alternatives for fleets seeking to avoid costly utility delays and electrify on predictable timelines.

“L-Charge was founded to rethink how fleets access reliable charging when the grid can’t keep up,” said Dmitry Lashin, Founder and CTO. “Our off-grid technology delivers power immediately, without multi-year delays. With Stephen’s experience scaling clean-tech businesses, we can expand nationally and accelerate the industry’s shift to EVs.”

To support long-term growth, L-Charge has strengthened its leadership team. Kelley will focus on scaling the business and partnerships, Lashin will continue leading technology innovation and R&D, and Stephen Soroosh, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Product, will oversee product development and operations. Together, the team aims to balance continuity of technical vision with faster commercial execution and expanded market impact.
