On August 16, 2024, Cadillac introduced the Opulent Velocity concept vehicle, a bold expression of innovative design and prestigious performance. Opulent Velocity expresses the most artful integration of technology, luxury and exhilaration characterized by Cadillac’s halo V-Series variants, and future electrification design expressions.”

Opulent: Luxury of time

The Opulent experience envisions the personal freedom that full autonomous mobility could offer, with Level 4 autonomous capability providing a hands-free immersive journey through multi-sensory modes designed to promote relaxation. These modes are accessible via a full widescreen display and an Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR HUD), allowing passengers to experience an advanced blend of technology and comfort.

During the development of Opulent Velocity, Cadillac delved into the scientific insights of sound and light waves, using these findings to enhance the cabin experience. The vehicle incorporates curated art, entertainment, and ambient lighting to create a sophisticated, individualized environment that immerses travelers in a serene and luxurious hands-free setting.

Velocity: The Art of Exhilarating Performance

The Velocity experience delivers the exhilarating thrill of a hypercar while maintaining the luxury synonymous with the Cadillac V-Series. At the touch of the multi-functional controller, Opulent Velocity shifts from autonomous mode to the dynamic Velocity experience. In this mode, the steering wheel and pedals emerge, prompting the driver to take control. The front seats, integrated with the cantilevered Y-shaped console and directly attached to the door, are designed to secure the driver for high-speed maneuvering.

Inspired by Cadillac’s Blackwing track-proven engineering, which represents the pinnacle of luxury performance, the Velocity experience incorporates an authentic track experience with a “Ghost Car” function displayed on the HUD screen. This feature serves as a user guide by presenting a competitive driving course, enabling drivers to improve their lap times or compete against peers on various designated tracks.

Velocity mode also visualizes advanced driving enhancements, including road overlays and active information about road conditions. It offers complete control over active aero and suspension dampening settings, allowing drivers to customize their driving experience for optimal performance. Cadillac’s signature vertical lighting is explored through crystal fluted detailing on the tail lamps, headlamps, and grille, enhancing the vehicle’s expressive stance. Using 3D printing technology, the interior motif represents precision and speed through a linear two-toned embroidery with prismatic embellishments.
