Actor Nick Offerman Will Promote EV Adoption in New Campaign
Electric vehicle advocates this week announced a sweeping $43.5 million campaign to highlight the benefits of EVs — featuring actor Nick Offerman as its star spokesperson, reported by Axios in an exclusive.
Led by the nonprofit EV adoption group Veloz and funded by Electrify America, the “Electric for All” campaign is the first and largest nonprofit-led EV education push in the U.S., expanding Veloz’s mission beyond its California roots.
The timing is critical: federal EV consumer tax credits will end this fall.

Despite no official link to the recent policy changes, Veloz Executive Director Josh D. Boone called it “good timing,” noting that “more Americans are interested in EVs than ever” but need accurate information. The campaign encourages drivers to take advantage of remaining federal credits and emphasizes ongoing state and local incentives, plus long-term benefits like lower fuel and maintenance costs.
The campaign will run across all 50 states, targeting consumers planning to buy a new vehicle in the next six months to two years. It features TV, radio, podcasts, social media, and search ads, aiming to reach drivers at all income levels.
A multilingual website helps users find incentives and explore available EV models. In one of the standout ads, Offerman humorously narrates the removal of spark plugs, oil filters, and gas tanks from a traditional engine: “When you take away the spark plugs, the oil filter, belts, the alternator, and, oh yeah, the gas tank, you tend to take away other stuff, like headaches,” he says.
This discussion highlights the much lower maintenance that EVs need when compared to gas vehicles, one reason why EVs are much cheaper to own.
The campaign also includes hands-on events nationwide, letting people sit in, ride in, and test drive EVs. Boone believes these in-person experiences are crucial to sparking excitement and building confidence among new buyers.
Initially planned for 12 months, the campaign could extend further depending on fundraising. As U.S. EV sales growth shows early signs of slowing, this major push aims to reenergize the market and help drivers discover why “electric is for all.”
EVinfo.net’s Take
EVinfo.net is absolutely thrilled to see this new campaign by Veloz. We love that Offerman was chosen, one of our favorite actors, best known for his role as Ron Swanson on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation.
Misinformation and disinformation about EVs is widespread, preventing EV adoption from progressing in the United States as it should. The dire need for EV education is one of the main points we make in our article “Four Things Will Drive Mass EV Adoption in America.”
Since EVs are the most eco-friendly and cost-effective transportation, they will continue to grow in the US. But EV misinformation and disinformation slows this growth. We hope the campaign will speak against common EV myths, of which there are many.
We absolutely loved Veloz’s “Kicking Gas” video campaign, in which Arnold Schwarzenegger humorously poses as a new car salesman, trying to convince EV buyers to buy ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles. Watch it below.
